I wrote this short story about some teen agers on T&C-25 sitting around a campfire listening to this song!

TEOT's Love in the Time of Color A

I don't think many people figured out what "color A" referred to! Oh well. It semi-autobiographical. Thanks for letting me share!

Don't forget the remix! At first... *shakes head* "I don't like it." But now... oh, yeah!

My friend was selling me his Marshall amp (JCM800, 2x12). He came over. We chatted a bit. I plugged it in, turned it on, let it warm up. After a couple minutes took it off stand-by. A chord here, Chuck Berry-esque double stop... "D@mn that sounds good!" Up the volume a bit and I launch into the song below. Just once through the three cords in the verse. Maybe 15 seconds in total. Turn down the volume, hit stand by, then grabbed my check book.

Made the deal and said our good byes. I go back and sit on the sofa, watching TV, when a knock comes to my door. It's the police!

"Sir. We've received a noise complaint..."

I showed them the amp was off. There was no guitar plugged in. I told them I had to try it out before buying it to make sure it works.

"Just don't make us come back..."

Whateverz. It is only rock and roll...

Can't say I've ever gotten in The Cult per se, now when they were Southern Death Cult(despite long time ago/ one album-part of that music history though)- different story

The boy from Birkenhead was rather good back in the day wasn't he?

The 'shinier' 80s bands live on in the collective memories of those who program popular radio. The Cult are now a mere footnote of that era.

Thanks for the memories Gortex.

Love and Electric. ....classics.....nothing....I mean nothing else ever produced by anyone sounds quite like those two albums did. Yes both are on my phone and get listened to at least one a day in the gym.

Billy Duffy was a big influence on me as a guitarist.
He may have had some influence on my decision to play semi-hollow bodies.
