According to Islamic law, the body should be buried as soon as possible from the time of death, which means that funeral planning and preparations begin immediately. A local Islamic community organization should be contacted as soon as possible, and they will begin to help make arrangements for the funeral service and burial, assist the family in identifying an appropriate funeral home, and coordinate with the funeral home. The muslim community in Manchester however doesn't want to have anything to do with him and local authorities are also not very keen to cremate/bury his body.

Mosques have refused to bury the body of Manchester-born suicide bomber Salman Abedi who blew himself up at a concert last week killing 22 people. The city’s authorities are reportedly doing “everything in their power” to stop the 22-year-old Libyan-origin bomber’s cremation, burial in any way in the Greater Manchester area, the Metro reported on Wednesday. Councils, funeral directors, and Mosques in Manchester have refused to bury Abedi’s body.

He turned his back on his faith when he decided to become a violent murderer. He wasn't Muslim.

They should try this approach with all terrorist, perhaps when they realize that they are not headed for greater glory it might change a few minds. How about a burial at sea? Or Purina Hog Chow.

throw his remaining parts to the pigs as should be done with any muslim terrorist.

I know I will soon die because of my kindness but dead man pays all his debts.

Burn him and toss ashes to the ocean - no less, no more.

Wouldn't have thought there would be much to bury.

Either way, it makes a nice news headline, pretty hollow action IMO.

Hmm

Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing... but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun(the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)"

Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."

Quran (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority"

etc etc

Seems like he was practicing his religion quite nicely.
Islam (middle eastern brand of which his parents were taught) has yet to have a Renaissance. fundamentalism is the norm.
A bunch of other citations

Yet according to many on ATS Muslims are not speaking out against extremism and they are all terrorist sympathisers ....

Don't tell me the xenophobes are wrong

That couldn't be right could it??

Those quotes are referring to war time and defense when being attacked. It does NOT refer to killing innocent people who haven't done anything to you.

Air-drop the remains back home.

It's a waste of fuel, but might send the right message.

That's cherry picking. Context matters.

See Kayla's post.

How much was left to bury? They have incinerators at hospitals and that's a more fitting place for whatever's leftover.

It's good to see the Manchester Muslim folk rejecting his remains. Not that it'll stop the die-hard anti-Muslim choir, but at least it doesn't add fuel to the fire.

If it has anything to do with Islam, it will always be hollow or not good enough for you, is that it?

They could always take his body to a pig farm, film it then show all their Muslim brethren what they think about his kind.

Is the reason we are against Muslim terrorism is because they are Muslims or because they are terrorists? For me it is the later. Though I have no particular warm feelings towards this 22 year old, propagandized tool, I thought we were against terrorists because of their inhumane acts. Yet the large majority of responders on this OP are supporting more inhumane acts. Can't we ever take the high road? Who is it going to hurt to let someone give him a proper burial? Who will it assist to desecrate his already torn apart body?

Keep fighting hate with hate. That's what they do. See if this ever ends.
