So I'm an avid reader (mostly newspapers, more specifically mostly The Guardian) and I found the reporters versions of things always felt a bit skewed. So I would always find myself in the comment section getting other peoples opinions on things. Half of the time you would find some interesting perspectives that were totally overlooked and the other half of the time it was a myriad of puns about the topic. Over time I would always find myself going to the comment section cause I get a better feel for the information being discussed. More and more often now there is no comment section and I feel as though I'm missing out. So now I'm here, I don't know how long it will last but hopefully it will satisfy the need for kneading of information.

Particular topics of interest are: Human interaction (relationship, emotions, identity, human nature, etc.), religion ( far fetched interpretations, general understanding, religious relations), Political theory (don't much care about practice).

I notice The Guardian is loaded with Global Warming stories, can't go but a couple days without seeing one there.

Welcome to ATS, if you have any questions put em out there and someone will assist.

The Guardian is a pretty leftwing, if its not a global warming, its feminism or still complaining about Trump. There was an article about the coral reef today

Thanks, I won't hesitate to ask any questions.

First of all welcome to the nuthouse, looking forward to reading and sharing your contributions.

Secondly: whatever MSM news source that is cited here will be classified as FAKE news... especially by the partisan USA members here.... you will remember the same names over and over and blummin over again...

Once again... welcome and good luck and above all... Enjoy...

Warmest

Lags

Ps. I like the Guardian and the Indépendant sometimes as well as the Sunday sport and VIZ.

You ever read about Operation Mockingbird?

It's one of the reasons MSM is not to be trusted, that operation never went away, it got bigger and more secret.

Just stay skeptical.

There are a lot of positives and negatives about being on this site but no matter what, challenge the information. People can and will be wrong, they will lie and they will channel truths to make an agenda seem more real. Not to mention the gobberment thugs running around causing chaos on the web. glhf.

That's pretty eye opening.

What got me was all the news coverage during the American election. Man they would harp on Trump for any little thing he did. It was Hillary could do no wrong even with her "I have a vagina platform". Worst part of it all it was like Bernie was non existent. Just showed how easily the media can be manipulated.

This is very interesting

This may not be the place to ask but is there a semi reputable news organization in The U.S. that you could recommend. I've tried a lot of the news papers you have mentioned and found to be less than satisfying. I really would love to get a proper American perspective?

I totally agree with what your saying.

I just wish it was easier to spot the misinformation. I guess that's why I am here. Hopefully this forum community will be able to give me a greater perspective on what is correct/incorrect (to use very black and white terms...).

ATS? Reddit? Seems to be a higher level of reporting.

Don't think the UK's media isn't fully compromised, they all are.

Some of the journalism here is better than the MSM

Yes, and the Guardian has someone telling them to publish those coral reef bleaching events and all the other propaganda they publish about climate change. Never will you see a story about how the reefs recover and that bleaching is a natural event that has went on forever.

Its is curious that you mention that. Why does MSM keep pushing this agenda? to what end? It seems wildly apparent that no one is lowering their consumption of fossil fuels anytime soon. Especially when there is so much money at stake and your competing against so many countries. Is it filler? A distraction? The other day it was about the rainforests of Brazils. I just don't understand the purpose of writing it at all. got to write something I guess?

one curious fact. You rarely hear about environmental impact areas where people live (beyond the occasional smog alert in Beijing). You think that would be where the climate change story is. Its always about distance forest and the like. The thought of this is making my head spin.

When the governments are controlled by the corporations you would be very hard pressed to get something like this to float. In theory is seems plausible but it would seem the push really has to come from the people. Also there is the fear that this would be used like the many loans that governments give poor countries, something to use to control.

It strange, potential oblivion stares us in the face and all the wealthy are concerned about is there next pay check.

I guess the next question would be how to form positive social movement?

I hope I'm not harassing you to much D8Tee?
