good you are doing your besat to help him,,,,having someone comr to the house is probably better for him in his stubborness...let us know what happens...I was also thinking diabetes which would cause the wound to not heal and slowly get worse over time.

on the other hand that flesh eating bacteria happens really fast...good luck...whatever happens know that you did your best

You know that rabbit hole doesn't have a bottom

Perhaps you didn’t understand me. I meant that when people ignore stuff like this (which hurts and stinks), it’s often because they’re anaesthetized by the drugs they’re taking. It may even be a drug reaction.

Unless you’re a doctor, you’re in no position to tell.

I'm so sorry for your friend. I hope he'll be fine.

In the meantime, while waiting for the doctor and her diagnosis and treatment, I'd suggest getting some tea tree oil and using it undiluted on the wounds. And my prayers he'll make a good recovery.

DO NOT DO THIS.

Do not under any situation use tea tree oil undiluted - it acts as very bad toxic/poison, especially directly in an open wound.

Bad bad advice, and I come from the land of tea tree oils and hippy communes (I miss by old town Nimbin, taken over my hardcore druggies) who will tell you the same.

No problems.

If your mate wants a wash/soak it, it would be good at a minimum to use a solution of betadine/iodine mixed into some warm water, even a low concentration of salt and water (saline) would be good also.

I hope for the best.
