If this applies, then under the guise of Operation Mockingbird (a CIA operation) featuring non other than CNN's own Andersen Cooper, they might be exempt. You know, governments "do as we say - not as we do" version of justice.

I've always referred to CNN as the Counterfeit News Network, but Criminal News Network is starting to sound awfully fitting. Just ask Donna Brazile.

"Criminal Media" has been one of my default terms in general for the MSM. Afterall, the MSM as a whole is the PR mouthpiece front for the most monolithic organized crime syndicate in the history of the known universe: the Two Party + IC + MIC System.

Although I can't comment on the legal stuff - I failed my dive bar exams - there are some things about the media that haven't been mentioned.

Since Watergate, every major news organisation wants a presidential scalp. Every one. It's what gave the Lewinsky affair so much traction. Every major news organisation wanted to bring Clinton down. Every last single one.

Its what gave the Birther etc stuff such enduring traction in the lower leagues. Not so much the belief that it was true, more the burning desire that some of it was true. Obama's scalp would have made a Woodward and Bernstein out of the most insignificant boiler room news team.

The media live or die by ratings. Trump is great for ratings and, as a candidate, Trump needed all the exposure he could get so Trump and the MSM fell into a symbiotic relationship. Estimates vary, but the general consensus is that Trump got between $2 and $5 billion worth of coverage by the MSM - much more than any of the other candidates. For some of the MSM, this was part of a policy of giving the election a reality show feel and making Trump the star - the stats on how much coverage he got compared to the rest of the candidates is easily found online. The MSM benefitted because when ratings go up, advertising rates and revenue go up. Their share price goes up and the Donald gets to play the determined outsider to a global audience. Win win.

If the media really hated him, they would have ignored him. That's what normally happens to opppositional political figures. But Trump means revenue.

Since he took office, he has continued to play the determined outsider and the MSM has continued to rake in the cash. But the rules of the game have changed: the office of POTUS requires a high degree of probity per se and the constant circling of media sharks demands a even higher standard. Trump, like Warren G Harding before him, has not quite grasped that. Instead, he continues to operate in grey areas should be legitimately challenged and are enthusiastically probed at by the media sensing blood in the water.If Trump tightens up his act, and makes sure he is seen to be operating above board, the sharks will give him some leeway. He'll still get the coverage, he'll still get to play the role he wants, but without the constant, imminent threat of a feeding frenxy.

One more thing. Fox is not "alternative news". It's part of the huge global Murdoch media stable that includes Star TV in China and the Times and the Sun in the UK. Murdoch has always said that his outlets give people what they want. If the public taste shifts, his outlets will shift. Fox has a niche but it's still well embedded in the MSM.

What an effing stupid thread.

So.. what are you going to do.. arrest all of CNN for their evil transgressions? Shoot them in a firing line? Life in prison for all? How about.. Trump stops acting like a moronic buffoon, giving media outlets a plethora of ammunition to shoot his dumb ass on a weekly basis. Yea.. how about that instead.

Yes this is unbelievably stupid, especially since it's based entirely on a biased belief that isn't even very likely. Trump is a dirty as mud, but we're supposed to believe he's an Angel who's never done anything wrong.

CNN has a billion times more credibility than dumbass Trump.

It's about time some smart person found a LAW to use against MSM Networks that constantly attack the President of the United States, because doing so is simultaneously attacking America.

I call CNN/MSNBC/WaPo/NYTimes/LATimes domestically based terrorist organizations for a reason. Because CNN has the widest international circulation, they are the most influential around the globe.

It's disappointing that the legal minds in President Trump's administration have not found a way to have CNN severely punished in some way. Candidate/President Trump has verbally hammered anti-American U.S.-based media outlets very intensely for almost a year. You'd think that he would do more than talk, now that he's in a position to take corrective action(s).
