Comey tried to hide in curtains at White House gathering to avoid Trump

Strange "report" from a guy named Benjamin Wittes who is the editor of the Lawfare blog.

Wittes also claims to be a "friend" of former FBI Director James Comey !

His claim in this "story" is that Comey tried to "hide" from President Trump but it apparently didn't work !!

This guy Wittes I believe, is just a "Controlled Confirmation" operation for most (if not all) of the recent MSM smears against Trump.

He apparently is suspected of "leaking" inside info about Comey. Very clever.

Former FBI Director James Comey told a friend he tried to hide among the curtains at a White House ceremony earlier this year to avoid an awkward interaction with President Trump.

Comey’s friend Benjamin Wittes, editor of the Lawfare blog, told the New York Times that during an event to honor law enforcement officials on Jan. 22, Comey, then the FBI director, attempted to blend into the drapes in the White House’s Blue Room to avoid Trump’s gaze. According to Wittes, Comey was uncomfortable with the president’s attempt to build a personal relationship, but he attended the event to represent the FBI.

“He thought he had gotten through and not been noticed or singled out, and that he was going to get away without an individual interaction,” said Wittes.

Have you seen the video of this egregious act? They're all standing in one room in a circle and Comey is 6'8. You're all retarded. If you hate Trump so much at least pick your battles. Its # like this or his ice cream scoops that gets liberals and the media tuned out.

Lead, follow or get out of the way. Comey seems to be a "get out of the way" kind of guy. The fbi needs a leader, not a woose. I was hoping for Trey Gowdy as a replacement, but apparently that's not happening. Lieberman is obviously a Clinton stooge, so that's bad news for the truth.

Trump and Comey struck a deal that will come into play in the next weeks. The MSM does everything to make Trump appear stupid but the truth is he is far from it. He put plans in motion that will take time but some of them are already working. They haven't realized it yet and they might have won the batlle but they will lose the war.

I do believe Comey, notice trump said he didn't URGE Comey, to drop it, but he doesn't say he did not suggest or ask him to.....That is the "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" ......Only MUCH more serious!!!!

Comey did it to try to avoid any interaction with Trump, and to not give Trump the chance to try to become buddy-buddy with him - thereby maintaining the distance that is required and acceptable between Presidents and FBI directors. This is stated clearly in multiple sources.

Why is it that you Trumpets ignore the fact that Trump was trying to become best buddies with Comey when it is not appropriate for a President to do so? Why do you ignore the fact that Comey did everything he could to maintain that distance - and therefore the FBI independence?
