Early reports indicate that the Fyre Festival(a music festival with ticket prices ranging from 12k to 250k) was just a huge scam and the festival now turned into a disaster zone. The scammers locked people inside the airport without food and water and they are now desperately crying for help on social media. The luxury appartments are nothing but tents and most of them weren't even assembled yet. It's now basically like Battle Royal down there with people fighting for scraps of food. It's just insane.

I could blame the rich kids of course but even if they are just stupid the sceanrio unfolding sounds pretty terrifiying for all the people involved.

I don't think people that attend these festivals are expecting a real life Hunger Games event. The #Fyrefestival doesn't sound like a normal music festival sorry.

Thats why you book a hotel at a music festival. Staying there it usually degenerates quickly much better to cruise in listen to the band's smoke some weed and then go back to your hotel room.

In a few decades, this will be the Woodstock of the wealthy. Ten times more people will claim to have been there than actually were and suffering will be glorified as worth it to hear crappy music from no-talent entertainers. At least Woodstock was free admission and had skilled musicians performing.

And I bet most of the visitors laughed about Nigerian email scams. Priceless!

I've been to tons of music festivals and part of the experience is NOT living in a dystopia in tie dye colors.

Whilst there are fools, they will be taken advantage of.

Ja Rule made a buttload of money and isn't that in the end what really matters? It's all good.

I like this comment the best

We have been locked indoors with no air NO FOOD and NO water #fyrefestival #fyrefest fyrefraud

No air ? So they're locked in an air tight room ? unless they're accustomed to breathing from oxygen bottles

I think a lot of these rich kids are over exaggerating a little, yes it's pretty bad but it's no way a disaster area

Of course they are exaggerating and you left out the best part. They just watched the security guy lock the door. They outnumbered him roughly 30 to 1 but they just stared at him. They even filmed him doing it. The kidnapping of girls however sounded pretty serious to me if it's true of course. There are a lot of Lord of the Flies,Hunger Games and Battle Royal quotes or references on Twitter too. I did read some eye witnesses reports and they were like the typical i'm a rich kid f#ck the poor kinda tweets. They tried to garner sympathy for their situation but with these comments it's not really working.

Here is the videoclip.

Rich kids... probably referring to air conditioning.

I don't know about anyone else, but there would have to be some pretty lavish hotel rooms, 5 star food, liquor AND hookers for me to even thonk about getting my money's worth at 12,000 dollars a pop.

Are there any pirates near the Bahamas? That doesn't sound like security at all. I'm torn between laughing at them and hoping that nobody gets seriously injured. People tend to freak out when a supposed secure environment suddenly changes for the worst.

Glastonbury was good once...1987 to be precise.
Commercialisation pretty much ruined it from then on.
Not surprised they got ripped off but I've slept in some pretty rum spots with no probs.

I do regret never making it to Stonehenge, though.

I'll join the others and say HaHa!

It's in the Golf of Mexico so I'd go out on a limb and say no.
Meanwhile the most residents aren't particular wealthy and this festival screams "shooting fish in a barrel".
Worst part is they seem to can't get off the island right now.
