How was anything that person said in regard to this post BS? Just because you dislike someone for whatever emotional tirade you're feeling like having, doesn't make a truth any less a truth.

What Socialist Communist propaganda in schools?

Let's start with the DARE program. They teach 5th graders to rat out all drug users for the good of the community. Just like Hitler's people taught children to rat out undesirables in Germany for the good of the community.

I fear the trend is irreversible. Now a majority of the population want "More" government in their lives. I fear we will have our "socialism" within the next few years and kill off what little ambition and innovation is left in the nation.

www.zerohedge.com...

In a poll conducted a few days ago by NBC News / Wall Street Journal, a record 57% of Americans responded that they want MORE government in their lives, and that the government should be doing more to solve people’s problems.

That’s the highest percentage since they started asking this question in 1995.

Given how stupid the average joe blow Americian going by what I have read over the years on this forum, I am not supprised.

Someone in history said this would happen when they said that the oppresssed will come to love their approessors.

In fact, 57% is nearly double what people responded in the mid-90s.

Are you actually doing anything to help yourself? Or are you just whining on social media about how no one is giving you anything for free?

America was founded as a place where people take responsibility for themselves.

But this now seems to be an outdated, minority view.

The Land of the Free is truly becoming the Land of Getting Free Stuff.

No the argument is if x isn't paying income taxes Y has exactly zero right to be saying a damn word.

And look up the word partisanship because someone clearly isn't using it in its correct sense.

Asked and answered.

I think you meant to say that x has zero right....

But by that logic, then you consider the IRS your government instead of the People. Careful there, neo.

My cynical side says, "Well, yeah... duh." Just look at ATS. Pretty much everyone wants government to do something for them... or to do something to someone else for them.

But the more pragmatic side of me says, "Well, yeah..." government does need to do more -- because they broke it and dammit they need to fix it!

The question was meant to be ambiguous, in order to get the results they wanted. The government has specific enumerated powers and responsibilities -- NOT rights -- and they are failing miserably at what they're supposed to do as well as what they're doing that they're not supposed to do. So the real question is what should the government be doing better and what should the government not be doing at all. And that answer will depend on who you ask... on who wants what...

But the echo chamber will sort that all out, right?

If this were accurate, the popular vote in the last election wouldn't have only had a 2.1% difference in favor of Clinton, considering that Trump very vocally ran on a platform that included repealing more than a couple government programs.

It's all garbage...I think that this is the media's tail wagging the dog of a narrative that they're about to start pushing. Let's hope that most people don't buy into it.

The media has a history of self-fulfilling prophecies.

Lower-income taxpayers are about to have their tax liability reduced to 0% by President Trump. It will be less government in their lives, but I doubt that they will complain.

So far, not a single poster has claimed that they want more government in their lives, without qualification. I would have thought the socialists among us would have stood up and said "Yes".

It seems more government is only good in other peoples lives .
