“I feel like this goes on all over the country on campuses — they invite somebody to speak that’s not exactly what liberals want to hear and they want to shut her down. I feel like this is the liberals’ version of book burning. And it’s got to stop.”

You know liberals have gone the deep when Maher calls them out.

Well rumour has it that Ann Coulter hired Academi for her speech at Berkeley as protection. I hope it is true because Antifa vs a private security force would surely a beautiful sight to behold. They would piss there pants for sure.

Well, that's been the case for years. Classic liberalism is gone. Classical liberals are about as confused by the neo-liberalism of today as anyone else is.

What I don't understand is how do colleges expect anyone to be educated if they're prohibiting people from speaking at their institutions. Sure, it MAY be bollocks, about sixty percent of what society pilfered around as "truth" is, regardless of the political flavor However, wouldn't it be keen to allow students to be aware of it? Just saying.

I dont agree with bill Maher usually ever but i think hes beginning to understand what he helped create. He was the first person to state the reason why liberals lost the election which is identity politics! Personally people like maher scare me. Just take one look into marxists atheist jews in russia aka Bolshevik revolution to understand why someone like mahers views are extremely dangerous. I dont believe he actually cares but is more worried about people waking up to his underlying bullcrap. His show is crap where he invites 3 other liberal indoctrinated morons with titles and one republican to bash. He plays to his audiences insecurities by explaining how its the republicans that are dumb and makes a few mean hearted jokes to attack them and when he cant logically make his point his fellow group of highly educated morons jump in to muddy the topic of derail the discussion. Mahers whole program is to make white americans vote agaisnt their own self interests by feeding them an ego boost.

The loudest voices are the voices with audience and agency. Like Bill Maher. His is the type of liberal voice that are the loudest. Just because average ATS-Joe ignores the loudest and most sensible voices in the front row and zero's in on a couple of quiet examples of absurdity?

So no, the most extreme liberal archetype is not the loudest. They are just listened to very carefully by conservative blogs.

In addition, many of the Left tolerated Radical Islamism which is known for advocating violence. In fact in UC San Diego there was an incident where a student supported Hamas and agreed Jews should be killed.

They are the loudest since it's the most irrational ones we hear of. I really can't remember the last time I heard from a sensible, self proclaimed liberal in the media. It's all super radical, extreme hard left, hypocritical insanity that is getting louder and louder. Not the sensible true liberals.

It is utter madness that University/College Administrators and senior staff have no spine when it comes to this issue. They should give anyone (yes, even extreme lecturers too) who is trying to shut down a speaker a stern warning that they are impeding on the rights of others and must stop immediately. If they fail to listen, then give them a SWIFT harsh punishment that will put the fear into other potential "wannabe fascists" about ever trying it again.

How can staff tolerate this kind of childish, petulant behaviour? Seriously? If they feel pressure from the SJW brigade then warn them they will be suspended from campus if it happens again. If they don't listen, then suspend them. If it happens another time, expel them and let them take their BS to another institution that will tolerate such juvenile, irrational behaviour.

Well... that would just be escalation.

Personally, I would advise her against that. The simple reason is, that police details might be threatened by a tiny minority of nutcases, but that tiny minority of nutcases would have absolutely no qualms about killing mercenaries. This sort of escalation will only lead to circumstances where security details become the target, since there is only one greater disgust in the mind of an anti-fascist, than that reserved for those who sell their ability to kill, and that is the disgust reserved for the literal fascist themselves. Putting Academi and Coulter in the same place just increases the likelihood of a paramilitary response from the REALLY dangerous nutcases, not the ones who bang on windows and produce citizen unrest, but the actual nutcases, who have been waiting for a shot at something like this for a long time. If anything, this makes the job of those seeking the heads of the right wing mouthpieces EVEN easier, since it removes a portion of the potential collateral damage, and replaces it with what they will see as yet more legitimate targets.
