Russia's PAK-DA stealth bomber delayed further

Two bits of news about the Russian strategic bomber force gave come out. Both either imply or outright state, albeit wit some spin, that the Pak-da has been further delayed.

The first is the Tu-160 bomber is returning to production. They have stated this before. Wat is different now is the production of the white swan has been delayed to 2020 at least. If the return to production of the TU-160 is delayed that much, then it sure implies even bigger budgetary problems for the PAK-DA.

Furthermore, the Russians gave spun it such the PAK-DA prototype will be complete in the early 2020s and gave a first flight in 2025 now. This signals an admission if an outright delay for the PAK-DA, not just implied.

The sanctions are having a bigger effect than they let on.

They were having funding problems long before the sanctions were put in place. The first delay to the T-50 was announced before the sanctions were. This is probably as much engineering delays as funding.

Initial deliveries of the PAK-FA have been cut to 6 aircraft. This went from 17 to 10 and now 6.

The sanctions are also hitting their other armaments too: they restarted the T-90 tank production rather than start the T-14 tank line.

They're definitely having some effect, but we were already seeing funding issues before them. They took a huge hit when oil tanked.

Would take another one if a gas pipeline through Syria happened, no wonder they are fighting so dirty!

They turned down the pipeline with qatar for one with Iran. So the pipeline has nothing to do with it other than Iran needs to pacify syrians to builf their pipeline.

I've been reading that their military spending exploded last year by some 20%, as the state had to jump in and settle arms industry debts. They can't really afford any new toys.
