Ehh to be fair the money begging usually doesn't persist past March. April is concession month for NK. This time it does seem different though.

We will know for sure by the end of the month, either NK is attacked, they shut up, or they play dog in a corner.

Kim knows he is pushed into a corner and it's put up or shut up...

I think this caught all our attention..

"The favors Washington is reported to have offered in return for the North's permanent abandonment of its nuclear program are somewhat mind-boggling"

Will a chance be wasted ? or no chance at all ?
With China abandoning North Korea essentially, they have few friends... Iran comes to mind. But that's a long way to go for anything...

US presence in NK could help in intel gathering and could speed up eventual coup to end that regime once and for all but I'm finding this to be extremely unlikely. USA is their eternal enemy, foundation of their propaganda, fuel for their arms race and excuse when something like lack of electricity happens. It would be extremely humiliating for Kim.

Once the relationship is formed, Washington would station an infantry outside Pyongyang, North Korea's capital, to protect the Kim Jong-un regime,

Protect The Dear Leader? This makes zero sense. The best course of action is the elimination of The Dear Leader, Kim Jong Un, his sister, and the Workers Party of north Korea, and the elimination of Communism in Communist north Korea (nK). And then figure out what to do with the million man army (The People's Army).

"special envoy to north Korea" That's already been done. Ask Hillary about her visit to Pyong Yang to The Dear Leader, the late Kim Jong Il (back when she was co-president).

Protect Kim Jong Un Regime? Wouldn't that upset China and South Korea?

Also I doubt N Korea will give up it's nukes because they'll probably hide it.

I would not be surprised to find that China uses NK as a pawn while dealing with the West. They are that crazy, mangy Mexican Hairless that acts insane and is kept on a leash. China pretends that they aren't the ones behind that dogs insanity while slipping them gun powder in their kibble and offal (had a great uncle do this to dogs to make them meaner....he was a grade A asshole).

If China doesn't want anything to happen in NK, it likely won't. The goal is making a more equitable deal with China regarding trade, and possibly trade route patrol help. Its not to piss off China and start a war over a country that really is meaningless on a global scale.

The easily persuaded. All it takes is a yt vid.

Under which presidency has NK posed a threat to the US?
Or ever had any nukes?

Who knows, maybe talking to each other might work, we know that lobbing bombs doesn't work - see Syria for case-in-point.

Nah, you just have to lob more and bigger.

Phew, lucky money grows on trees and everyone is financially comfortable and living a happy life.

Well, everyone that has bought military-industrial complex stocks.

Imagine the life you could have if you just had shares in one of those all important DoD long term contract companies like L3 or Raytheon, or even shares in Chevron, Shell or BP? - weapons guidance and fuel are blue-chip investments, and very important to their agenda.

Especially the millions of middle class workers in those companies.

That gives them job security, a nice income, and a great retirement account.

Nuclear "crisis"? Why does the media label everything a crisis, tragedy, or disaster.

Well since China has and will continue to determine NK's state of existence, it is interesting to say the least to see the build up on their border. It's not the first time they've done it, but a feeling in me tells me it will be the last, at least in the Kim era.

It's definitely China's move when it comes to NK, but something about the timing of the meeting between Jinping and Trump and the moves during and afterwards tells me something is coming to NK.

I don't believe in god, but I pray for that peninsula.

He did not present any concrete evidence of the alleged secret talks, merely claiming that his claim was based on intelligence from credible sources

So basically, his mum's best friend's sister heard from a guy who knows a guy...

I would really take anything from Koren press with a grain of salt. I remember doing jumping jacks shirtless in freezing snow just so some Koren "journalist" could take pics and video to show how tough American Marines are.

That is because Syria, US has its own agenda. Don't complain when the gov goes after you when other nations have fallen. US was dropping bombs not on ISIS but the Gov at the start of the war. Now imagine this large scale. Dropping bombs on China, economy collapses. Later we are still at war with China even though the government isn't there anymore and all Chinese goes to concentration camps. You know your bloody screwed then.

well if true there goes any chance to settle the issue in a conventional war, right now is the last chance we will have to end this... it's just going to be worse next time if it gets delayed again.

Personally, I'd like to see this lead to reunification of the two countries.

The NoKo govt would fold like a house of cards once exposure to the much more affluent South began to take place. Once done, this on again, off again crisis, sixty years in the making would be over in all likelihood.
