Taxes are bleeding us dry. Gas is cheap comparably speaking. I've seen enough of your posts on ATS to recognize that while you have issues with what you call people "working for the wealthy," you clearly have no issues with people working the same hours (if not more) to fund all the various entitlement programs. See, here's the issue with that, either way it's the industrious people of this country trading their own blood, swear, tears, and time to put money into the pockets of others. The wealthy, to their credit, pay me money in exchange for my blood, sweat, tears, and time... what the bloody hell do I get from the entitlement recipients? I can't feed my family, fund my hunting and fishing trips, buy my ammo, or pay my bills from warm fuzzies, friend.

Personally, I love the wealthy! They invest their wealth into economic endeavors which generate jobs for people willing to actually work and do so at risk of losing that investment if the business goes heels to Jesus. They also tend to fund most of the privately run charities and programs which recognize the additional red tape of government run empathy programs make those programs all the more expensive to the tax payers. Finally, those who I have met have tended to be fairly decent people...

I smell sour grapes and the green eyed monster of envy dripping off your position.

And for what it's worth, "Eat the Rich" made Lemmy a very wealthy man. He had a net worth of over $10 Mil when he died, and would have been much, much greater had he not fully enjoyed his wealth while he was alive, using it to buy the finest alcohol and drugs money could buy while bedding thousands of women in 5 star hotels around the globe. Ironic, isn't it?

You are upset about being broke..... but you dont want to work?

It doesn't matter what you make. What does matter is the purchasing power of your take home pay. Sorry, but saying I don't want to work is admitting you are math illiterate.

There are always opportunities out there. You just have to keep trying.

I've had a friend for about 20 years who is one of the brightest people I've ever known. He's also his own worst enemy --drinks too much, can't hold onto a job, definitely can't get a woman. He's been on the skids more times than anyone I've ever known. I cannot tell you how many times I'd get a call -- hey man, can you shoot me a couple hunny. Of course I usually did, but knew I'd never get it back.

A couple years ago, I realized I hadn't heard from him in many months. Then a year went by...

Last summer, I was returning from a funeral of all things, drove down my driveway, and there was a shiny new truck parked right in the middle of everything. It was my friend.

The first thing he did was slap a wad of hundreds in my hand and give me a big hug. I was shocked quite frankly. The only thing I could think of was that he won the lottery.

Which wasn't far from the truth. Somehow, he had conned his way into a very hard-to-get marijuana retail licence. He was partners in a shop, and taking in scads of money for the first time in his 40-something years.

He still can't keep a woman and drinks too much, but he's as happy as he's ever been. I'm trying to talk him into pitching some cable network on doing a reality TV show on his shop. It's a loony bin. I don't smoke myself, but hang out there from time to time. If it was a reality show, it would be #1.

Anyway, long post, but I want you to know that it can turn around really fast. You just have to be open to and ready for it.

Gasoline has never been cheaper.

So you admit Obama did a good thing.

Cheers.

Was Obama in charge of OPEC's decision not to cut production over the past 2 years? Are you suggesting he held sway over a mostly Arab/Islamic consortium of businessmen? That would be a... unique position for an American born individual to find themselves in, for sure.

At the end of the day its the government ie the bankers.

Government is a black hole of waste and corruption.

But I agree, people need to stop paying and filing income tax returns.

Withholding has to be discontinued which was actually a "temporary" war time measure...

At the end of the day government created a central bank, and fiat currency.

Everyone is at the mercy of the state.

Customers pay for products or services, your company (boss) pays you some and keeps the rest to reinvest, keep or what ever.

It is a symphonic relationship. And one that overall is failing, the "rich" are keeping more and more.

Gotta go with Burdman on this one.....no way does the president have any sway over the gas prices. NONE. He (or she) has no sway over commodity prices and never has. This is run by the elite, and oil prices and supply and demand are games they play.

Well, sort of. There are a lot of people that barter and do business under the radar. Then there's the whole black market thing. As Sgt. Stedanko says in "Up In Smoke", "The buying and selling of drugs is the last vestige of free enterprise left in America".

The gov't hates this because they cannot wet their beak in the profits. This of course is my own opinion. I also see people up here who do work for straight cash and nothing is said by anybody. Maybe I'm just making this up and I don't know nuffin.

In the end, there are the 'law abiding', who are indeed slaves, and there are those who are underground....and I'm not talking about just drug dealers. Everybody from landlords to those who cut lawns have a whole underground economy.

Over all if the productivity gains were shared with the employees, affording health care would not be a burden.

If government hadn't had artificially raised the high costs of medical care through their regulations, then everyone could afford healthcare.

I always hear the govt regs are the reason for the high costs. what regs.

Do you have an example of unnecessary regs that are in fact causing the health care costs to increase double digits year after year?
