He might be gray. Gray is the path of balance between dark and light. No more Jedi might simply mean that he thinks there can be more light and dark division. Bringing balance to the force might mean learning how to harness both and walk the path between going too far into either -- gray.

I'm betting that line is taken out of context for a reason--it's probably uttered in the film near the beginning where Rey is most likely trying to coax him into training her, and as Yoda was on Degobah, he's probably reluctant to do so and feels like the battles between the Jedi and the Sith have wrought more destruction than otherwise would have existed (kind of along the thought of being "grey," I suppose).

Of course, in theory (and I don't follow the expanded universe, so I could be wrong), the Sith would cease to exist (that's hard to say) if the Jedi didn't exist, unless I'm missing something about the origins of how the Sith learned to use the force along with the Jedi.

Probably has something to do with Dark Helmet and President Scroob.

I know the gray jedi are back in canon because they used the embodiment of the gray in Star Wars: Rebels this season. So that course is possible too. If the force is unbalanced because it's been split into separate embodiments of light and dark needing good/bad balanced by the extremes, then having them all go gray internalizing and balancing the conflict within would be a better solution than eternal galaxy-wide fighting.

If I were to marathon the entire Star Wars films, what would be a better way to do it, by release date or by chronological order?

EP 1
EP 2
EP 3
Rogue One
EP 4
EP 5
EP 6
EP 7

For EP 1, 2 & 3 it's better to watch the anti-cheese fan edits (if you can find them) they tell the story without all the worthless fluff that made fans wet their beds at night

I would add a read of Timothy Zahn's post epi 4,5,6 books with Grand Admiral Thrawn, but I'm not sure how much they will conflict with the new canon. But Thrawn is such an awesome character.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa T?

'it's time for the jedi to end' ?

Don't bet on it.

Too much money would be lost from sequels, and prequels.

I just remembered.

They killed off Wolverine.

They just might kill off the Jedi.

Those stories deserve there own movies in my opinion.. the money they would make not to mention the good will of the real fans who would love to see thrawn brought to life would be priceless..

I just may have to dig out my hard covers for a refresher..

Honestly,I wouldn't care if they did the thrawn saga in a separated alternate reality or something..what ever it would take .

I cringe at that.

It took me years of getting over Starbuck going from a man to a woman.

I would be absolutely devastating if the same happened to Han Solo.

I wonder, is Luke realizing that Dark v Light isn't working and that one needs a balance of both?

That's not what I meant..at all.

I would not go see that movie..

What I meant was if that's not the storyline they choose to go with for the franchise.

I'd like a stand alone thrawn movie/s

Yeah but that was Fox Studios who killed him off, along with Jackman as his final role as Wolverine. Disney nor Marvel had any say. That said, Deadpool & Wolverine in a movie together must be done!

Just saying careful what you wish for.

Alternative reality/reimagined.

Not whatever it would take.

They did it in Ghostbusters too.

The new generation is quite a bit different than us that grew up with the franchise.

Are the studios running the risk of over saturating the super hero market?
Marvel has worked out so far be DC not so much.
