Not really sure what your saying ? - still I spent most of the 80s in NI watching what went on there, lil place called Derry - college called Magee - you might know of it. Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies.

As for Trump hes simply doing what he said he would - first politicion I have seen in the US deliver in a long time - check out the old ATS Politics shows on the archive - Semper and I hosted the Politics show (hence Broadcasting) - more than happy to have a chat if you want to PM me ?

I hasten to add that as a MOD i wont mod this thread as Im part of it.

What do you mean what is wrong with your President? He's just your average ordinary fascist.

You forgot, he's also Steve Bannon's puppet and Putin's best buddy...

Oh, wait...

MOP is technically larger, but has a smaller warhead. It's only a 5,000 pound warhead, but the total weight of the weapon is 30,000 pounds. That's a bunker buster, so had more weight due to the penetrator. The warhead on the MOAB is 18,700 pounds of H6, which is the equivalent of 11 tons of TNT.

72 Virginians - there was a spelling mistake

Let it be true
Although, tbh, it doesn't specify what gender the virgins are, or why they are virgins to begin with

And every civvy dead...

Might want to read the thread. This place they bombed was a hellish pile of rocks that supported nothing but ISIS cowards in their little holes.

Now it's a hellish pile of rubble and the ISIS cowards are buried in their little holes.

Well, according to RT the bomb struck the complex that Bin Laden fled to right after 9-11. Also according to RT, it was an immense network composing of miles of tunnels and dug out shelters built by the CIA for the Mujahedeen.

Interesting, and ironic.

Thats the entirety of Afghanistan
I watched some years back a documentry where people from all over the ME would go into Afghanistan to fight..not because they even seen anything they wanted to strongly fight against..just seemed like a fun place to kill and perhaps die a martyr..russians, americans, who cared...it was the perpetual warzone.
Thing is, they are right..so they seek out death there and in turn, use optics to show the good fight and place to die a martyr is there and voila...more come to fight and die. endless war.

I dont have any alternative solution mind you...just a shame really. I do know you cant bomb a idea...especially if the idea requires you to bomb in order to fluroush

So we bomb Assad for a chemical attack that likely had more to do with the US or ISIS, then we drop a MOAB on ISIS all the time way in Afghanistan.

This is as screwy as getting our towers demolished, blaming Al-Quaeda in Afghanistan but bombing Iraq because weapons of mass destruction (that were never found).

I've never wondered *why* the USA is hated, though. Quite the opposite, I've always taken the position that if we're going to be hated anyway, we may as well resolve the real threats and problems in the process.

Machiavelli said it 500 years ago when stated, while a prince may desire to be loved it is better that he be feared......

Agreed - but this is apparently the second Largest in the US inventory - I believe the Bunker Buster used during GW 2 is bigger ?

I may be wrong but I don't think anything this big has been used during GW2.

The US also has the GBU-57A/B (Guided Bomb Unit) Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP). It's heavier at 30,000 pounds, however, the GBU-57A/B only contains 5,300lbs of explosive filler—the vast bulk of the weapon comes from the hardened casing. I couldn't find a yield equivalent for this bomb.
GBU 57

The 21,000 lb GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) combines a KMU-593/B guidance section and BLU-120/B warhead with an 18,633 lb Tritonal explosive fill.

The MOAB is credited with a blast yield of 11 tonnes (TNT)

And the Russian bomb is also Thermobaric with a two stage detonation apparently although not yet seen in combat.
Russia is claiming a 44 tonne TNT yield for their device.

Mr.Redneck, did you expect this type of violent reactions from him? Or has it surprised you?

Not completely. I did expect us to take a much harder-line approach, but this is harder-line than I would expect.

I suspect this is General Mattis sending the message. My first thoughts on hearing about were "Wow, you went there"

Compared to his predecessor, not a damn thing.
