Thats a very good point. The US is tearing itself apart. Including the ATS members here at each others throats when it comes to current politics. Does not boad well for the next few years.

How is Trump an average upsort guy? His Dad was one of the richest people in America, there's nothing average about him. He is a businessman and that is how he intends on being a politician, for better or for worse.

Putin has turned Russia into right-wing Christian orthodoxy, so any right-wing Christians will probably end up supporting Russia from now on. Everyone else can see they are a regressive nation who are getting more nationalistic and bigoted with each generation. They have approved legalising a law that allows beating your children or spouse, and their treatment of LGBT is appalling, of course there are many people in the west who I'm sure don't have a problem with any of that, hence the recent support.

This is what happens when you try to change things. Right now he's getting resistance from both parties.

Could you post some links showing the military budget decreases during the Obama years. I'd really like to have that data on hand.

ETA: Maybe you could break it down by party majority as I understand it is Congress that passes the budget. Also could you add the Bush years so we can get a feel for the trends.

And yeah, Ford was going to build that plant anyway. It's almost as though some think just because the sun comes up, Trump should be excused for his ineptitude, intransigence, pettiness, and self-absorption. I'm not one of those people. Even high-level corporate execs have 90-day probation periods.

Trump is, maybe, being told these are the best next steps by Bannon (chief strategist?) when Bannon himself is just tossing grenades everywhere to make as big a mess as possible.

If Trump really is unfit for office. Who would be FIT for office and NOT someone who is a part of the establishment?
