There's too much pathology for this dude.

I've noticed a thing or two here. There is tons of unmitigated pathology and I don't think it's just the subject matter. People are acting craven here and I don't think it's just simply the msm or anything else.

The trolls are easy to spot. They come here, say rude things, and go. They take a while or sometimes not, to get banned. Actually I have no problem with that part of the policy. So I'll say what I think it is.


1) people are thinking they are master manipulators. That there is some kind of game to be played and they hold the keys to people's mindframes. Only they're really BAD at it. And they don't give up. I expect some disagreement on websites but thus secret mind manipulation pretend stuff is so bad that it's full re-tard. Sorry to use a term like that, I hate it. Likewise they think everyone is an opponent or that they're the messiah.

2) People are trying to start personal cults AND they're not that good at it. Reiteration of the above.

3) The unrestrained capitalism is or has been so bad here with so little oversight that everyone is a walking tm. I think that some recognition of people as not being owned by others is in order. I mean with reference to this site as some people do not want to be tm'ed by a person in a living room who spends too much time on the net.

4) People pretend to be otherkin or whatnot, or whatever in a way that seems like they buy it and this gives them the right to aim pathology at others.

5) People are so invested in one mind frame that everyone is searching for a messiah. I'm not saying this about religion but a need for pathology that doesn't even reflect the mainstream (a term I'm sick of but whatever.) It's like theres a hidden "messiah tm ats!" at the end and it's not the government and I'm not about to get into a conspiracy about the site itself, I just think people are MIA (DOA? :@@

There's an overarching "belief" and most people are not here for an overarching belief. Again, not accusing the site itself of being a cult but I do think that people are kind of being encouraged to just take the ball and run with it. I expect some pathology, but this is oh my goodness. Everyones theory everywhere starts madness and people aren't even looking for anything anymore. Call me old fashioned but I used to think you just hopped in a car and looked at the sky for a day and not had it be beholden to anything in particular concerning persons tm who are either shameless or predatory people with mental holdups.

6) There used to be five or six generally framed lines of thought that might have been b.s. but at least you could discuss "I don't like this, I like that." Now it's just a jumble of horrid horrid pathology. I'm serious. Some of this is so stagnant it reeks. Like I said, I'm not just referring to people disagreeing. It's like everyone thinks your owned tm and everyone is mia.

7) people use the excuse "you should put up with what happens on the net" to just launch criticism beyond normal and it's not a reflection of ms. Something is flown the coop, and I'm again not talking about obvious mental cases, hard trolls, or anything of the sort. It's bad. I'm just a guy and not sure I want a part of that. sorry if I derail some past threads, but I don't troll. I just like to say stupid stuff and move on. I try to make the heat a bite tolerable but, seems not to work.

ATS is tame compared to the bats# insanity of most other forums.

There are people trying to convince themselves they are beyond human and it's more than a running narrative, but it's not like it's all over. You know what an other kin is. They're pretending to be Lord or something. And not doing well.

I've been accused of trolling so many times I don't understand what it means. I guess like one man's religion is another man's cult, one man's acute commentary is another man's trollish.

Half the time I post something stupid and the other half of the time I just get lucky.

I think the bigger problem is not trolling but people being fanatics. There's a lot of fandom going on and maybe not as much substantive discussion of a topic based on positives or negatives.

That's kind of what I mean but some of the behavior is predatory and pathological in a way that's really low mentality. But you hit it on the head. I'm not talking about trolls that are obvious or people having genuine disagreements and so forth.

I do notice that some people are not as civil in their communication on line as what they are in person. Try saying some of the things in a pub and things will get quickly physical. There is not as much feedback going on in a forum, calling people MIA is just one example on your part.

This website is a constant flow of problems. When mixing that with the schizophrenic nature of free speech and the opposing views that surface, the problems do grow until they unravel or eventually fade away.

For a lot of this potty language and comments that just vent frustration, we all have to start some where. How many times did we fall over learning to walk? Learning to debate and argue constructively is a skill that does take time, effort and support.

I know a lot of this bad language and poor expressions is frustrating at times, but it is more of a reflection of the poster than the problem. It does look like you have put a lot of thought into this post, which is what is needed to lift the standard for us all.

There is nothing authentic on the web anymore. It's all a bought and paid for mentally ill echo chanber. IMHO. Whether anyone actually realizes or even means to or not, it's all marketing, manipulation and mind control in some form or another.

And all of this technology and tweaking has made people intolerant of anyone who doesn't fit into their finely tuned niche that even the Google caters to...
