Trump is just baiting you and those in the media.

Please explain why a sane person would do that. Trump has the weightiest job on the planet. He has more important things to do than act like a middle school girl in a flame war. He needs to forge important policies and sell them to the people. You do not persuade people by trolling them. He needs to win the media over so that they will help him sell his policies. You don't do that by trying to undermine their credibility.

That is the problem, the media has no credibility TO undermine. Trump can't "win over" the media in their current state of self defamation. That would be like trying to convince a water moccasin not to bite you. It is their current nature to defame Trump at any and every opportunity. You can see the proof of that in every single news piece they do.

They should all have their FCC broadcasting licenses revoked at this point. They, the media are causing your "flame war", in fact they ARE the flame war. He's just trying by very mellow, (so far) methods to dampen their pyrotechnics by cutting off their press feeds in various ways.
Trump isn't doing near enough though. The gloves should be coming off hard core. I want to see the MSM bleeding badly with stocks plummeting to zero and that kind of thing. They deserve it. They are begging for it.

Why choose that extreme as if it is the only possible remedy that would be utilized?

How about just vacating the cable/broadcasting license and bar that owner/media company from future broadcasting and let someone like Alex Jones have the spot?

Make new FCC rules that bar these media companies from knowingly lying? Rescind the law that Obama promoted into law that allowed them to lie.

If they insist on lying then they will pay the penalties, the worst one so far is how the public is rejecting them completely.

People in the media should be getting big fines and even jail time for what they are doing today.

As long as the government controls which media companies can report on government affairs, as long as it can refuse access to journalists on any pretext, as long as it can control anything that any media organisation from the local gazette, to the largest print and digital media organisations on the planet, say, or do toward that government, the government will be engaging in one or another form of denial of the freedom of the press.

The government in a properly run, correctly arranged society, should NEVER have that power, or anything which looks remotely like it, under any light, or through any refractive medium!

They could file lawsuits against media outlets for libel and cost them millions in court costs. I am surprised Trump hasn't already done something besides tweet about fake news. The faked news and the constant harassment of the Trump administration deserves very severe penalties.

The "freedom of the press" excuse just doesn't cover what is happening.

You can't make America great again with a fully corrupt and enemy press uttering falsehoods and faked news which has already caused immeasurable amounts of libel damage to the current administration. I would call that a grave national security issue, not just a partisan political issue like people who hate Trump are saying. From looking at the people Trump has hired on and appointed to different positions, he just isn't as smart as I hoped he would be. There are way too many moles getting in. The dirtbags in the media need to have wet work teams sent after them at this point, since they will never reform their dirtbagness. They just can't be rehabilitated

I feel the same way. People thought I was kidding when I started the thread declaring CNN as a Domestic-based terrorist organization. It's no laughing matter when the sources that 90% of Americans get their news from, are constantly bashing the leader(s) of our country. To me, what CNN/MSNBC/NYT/Wapo are doing, is worse than taking the American flag, driving over it in a muddy street, then blowing their noses, and wiping their azzes with it.

Just this week, the CIA Director was LIVID at the New York Times, for endangering the life of a CIA operative and his family, by divulging his name in their newspaper.

The main reason Jeff Sessions angers Trump supporters, is because he doesn't go after the ENEMIES OF HIS BOSS, when they obviously are violating 1 or more laws of the land. Great points, every one of them. Trump has often stated his administration was going to get the best people to help with his agenda, when what he really should be doing is just getting people that are fully trustworthy who share his goals and attitudes, and maybe some do, but others seem to be betrayers of trust. Hiring Mueller shocked me when I first heard it, and not hunting down and firing all the Obama moles and making it a public spring swamp draining was a surprise as well.

After seeing how Obama entrenched his own like minded and very corrupt moles throughout government to help entrench the power of the democrat party, (since aboveboard methods always fail for them because most Americans hate dirty pool, so they historically do it as covertly as possible), but Obama hated America enough not to care too much expecting the media to cover his tracks, and they did that and more. After seeing all of this, one would expect and hope for better planning but all we are getting are dinosaurs focusing on all the stupidest things like you said

What you buy or not is absolutely immaterial.

The reality is that either you have freedom of the press, or you do not. If you have freedom of the press, then you accept the consequences of it, or you have one or another form of totalitarianism, censorship, the stuff we used to complain about around here together, when at least some of us still had our integrity as freedom loving people, rather than subscribing to the stealthy creep of fascism from any quarter.

AND ANOTHER THING:

You know which publications would take the biggest hit, if the press, as a whole, were to be overly regulated by the state, held to a measure of truth? I am going to promise you right now, that it will not be the Washington Post and other publications that wrong leaning people ( far right lunatics ) despise. Oh no. It will be people like Breitbart, Fox News, Murdoch print media publications and others of their ilk. Most of their headlines would get them fined into obscurity, based as they are, on absolutely nothing.

And one more thing... If you want to seriously suggest that a president who lies as regularly, massively, and amateurishly as Trump, is going to insist on accuracy and honesty from print media, then I applaud your ability to place your head within your own colon, but must also point out that no one with Trumps record for talking absolute crap, has any business presiding over any sort of censorship of the press, even in the event that the press have started reporting on Leprechaun sightings, instances of Unicorns winning Royal Ascot, and an invasion of major American cities, by Arthurian Knights, lead by a charismatic leader with a posh sword on his hip.

Freedom of the press is one thing. Freedom to commit libel against anyone the media chooses is not part of that, and not covered by the first amendment.
The First Amendment does not protect all speech. It does not, for example, protect speech that leads to illegal activity and/or imminent violence, obscenity, defamation, and libel.

Those are the facts. Deal with it and stop hiding what the media is doing as freedom of the press. You should be smarter than that. In fact, I know you are.
