Larry Johnson has revealed himself to be one of the sources behind Trump's wire-tapping claim. Larry is not new to making bigly claims. He has a history:

In an interview with the New York Times, a former intelligence official who pushed a 2008 rumor that former First Lady Michelle Obama made racially-inflammatory comments about white people in a taped-speech admitted he is one of the sources for President Donald Trump’s claim he was “wiretapped.”

With GOP lawmakers and U.S. intelligence officials failing to back up Trump’s Twitter accusations that former President Barack Obama had his Trump Tower office “wiretapped” before the election, the president on Friday passed the buck. Speaking with reporters during a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Trump indicated he got his wiretapping information by watching Fox News personality and former New Jersey Superior Court Judge, Andrew Napolitano.

Further:

According to the Times, Johnson was later behind a rumor that Michelle Obama had made disparaging remarks about white people — calling them “whitey” — that had been recorded and would be released in time to derail the candidacy of then-Senator Barack Obama.

In 2013 Johnson also accused the then secretary of state John Kerry of war crimes in Vietnam that turned out to be unfounded.

Larry is also no fan of Hillary Clinton and (not surprisingly) believes Russia did not interfere in the elections. He in actual fact believes the claim Russia is interfering was made to smear Donald Trump:

Larry claims his motives are not political.

I'm trying to find the exact date but thus far I'm getting 1993 as the date Larry left the CIA. This is from Wikipedia though. It's certainly been a while.

But Mr. Johnson, who was himself once a Fox News contributor, said in a telephone interview that Mr. Napolitano called him on Friday and requested that he speak to The New York Times. Mr. Johnson said he was one of the sources for Mr. Napolitano’s claim about British intelligence.

Hold on I got alittle confused before.

Are you denying Johnson has come forward himself or are you saying Johnson himself got this information from classified sources. If it's the latter, that would mean Napolitano got his information from a guy with a history of making claims, who claims he got it from another source in the CIA? So Napolitano got third hand information?

There's nothing proving where Napolitano got the story.

The whole thing is wild speculation.

The question is where did Trump find out ?

That's what's classified.

You're no stranger to that with many, many of your threads, and dodgy links to dodgy people.

There's nothing proving Napolitano's claims at all. At best he got his claims from third hand sources.

Johnson revealed himself to be one of the sources.

Unless Napolitano comes out and denies Johnson was one of his sources, I'm happy with the article. Johnson says he decided to come forward at the request of Napolitano himself.

The whole thing is wild speculation.

What's this? The wire tapping claim? Yes it is wild speculation at best.
