Presidents get 3 week vacations every year. Obama took his vacations, as will Trump. Obama didn't take weekends off.

You have a source for that, or did you just pull it out of you know where.

While I can understand how some would see family values as laughable, others do consider them important.

Pffft. Nope. The idea of putting Donald Trump and family values in the same sentence is laughable and absurd!

Incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer joined "Mornings with Maria" Friday to discuss his new role assisting President-elect Donald Trump.

The conversation focused on issues of national security, Trump's use of social media, press opportunities surrounding the inauguration, nuclear weapons and business.

With all that is on the president-elect's agenda, Spicer said finding some free time may not be an option, as the word "vacation" likely will not exist in a Trump administration.

I have criticized Trump on many occasions - private prisons, CIA drone strikes, marijuana crackdown, cabinet picks etc. As usual, you're wrong. And instead of providing proof to your ridiculous claim about Trump's kids, you deflect.

Technically, the President never gets a "day off", and is always the president. But, just like any other federal employee, they get holidays and earned vacation leave.

Unlike Trump, most presidents have been employed by the federal government before taking office.

After 3 years of service you earn 6 hours per pay period and adjusted to total 20 days per year.

That's ridiculous. A person can't be wrong about an opinion of someone. You can disagree all you want, but my opinion is worth as much as yours.

Ok, I'll give you that. I would like to know why you have the opinion that Trump's children are: "Trump's children are no role models! They're complicit scam artists, just like their dad!"

Here, this article might help you understand. Is from the WaPo, so if anything a left leaning bias.

Presidents pay for their own and their families’ lodging, food and incidentals while on vacation, which may be why they generally prefer to stay at properties they own, as guests of wealthy friends or at the official presidential retreat at Camp David.
But since presidential vacations are always working vacations, taxpayers cover what it takes to keep the commander in chief working. Lodging and meals are an extra cost, but taxpayers pay the salaries of White House staffers and Secret Service agents whether the president stays in Washington or not, so a presidential vacation does not significantly increase personnel costs.

I said earlier, there's too much to get into. That topic needs a thread of it's own. It's off topic for this thread, that's about Trump's 5th vacation in 60 days.

I think he finds Camp David a bit rustic for his likings.
I'd like to see him sink a couple hundred million into it, modernize the place, maybe build a golf course.

You're the one who made the assertion that Trump's children are scam artists, if it was off-topic and you aren't prepared to defend it in this thread, maybe you shouldn't have posted it?

That being said, I'd love to see you create a thread about it. I'll Flag it, Star it, and participate in it.

you do realize that summary of benefits link you posted is for employees of bureaus, agencies, services, and such, and not elected officials.

you can tell because the pay scale for U.S. employees goes from 1 to 15, and it even says so in your link.

from your link,

WITHIN-GRADE STEP INCREASES: Each pay category is identified by a grade 1 through 15 and within each grade are ten steps. Based on performance and time in grade, employees are eligible to go up steps within their grades. After one year (52 weeks) you can go from Step 1 to Step 2, 3 and then to Step 4. For Steps 5,6, and 7, it takes 2 years (104 weeks); after 3 years (156 weeks) you can go to Step 8, 9, and 10. You top out at Step 10 and try for the next higher grade.

from the same site as your link, to prove my point, look real close at the chart and tell me where you see the presidential salary of $400,000 in it. or a members of congresses $174,000

SALARY TABLE 2017-GS

elected officials are not paid by the same pay scale as employees of the federal government. their time off is not calculated the same either.

The thought that Meals on Wheels funding will be lost so that Trump can go on his weekly golf trips to FL is incomprehensible.

As each day passes by, Trump continues to prove why he already is the worst president in US history.

And proves it even more with the new proposal that, in exchange for a housebound old person no longer getting a meal on wheels, instead, some small child or bride or aid worker will be evaporated by a drone strike! Nice.

Lol i can use memes too and mine are actually better!

you are promoting fake propaganda by posting that pic?

Hmmm ... I am (the one) promoting fake propaganda.

Fake propaganda.

Is that the same as The Truth? LOL

Well if had even bothered to read the article which you obviously didn't read you would have seen that pic shows which party is the majority not how they voted. But don't worry the simple minded little Trump cultist will believe anything good you post about dimwit even if it's a lie.

So long as he busts his hump during the week making America Great Again and triggering liberals so I have something funny to read with my Saturday morning coffee.

BTW thanks OP.

And this is the problem. Immature blind faith of the cult who would rather 'trigger liberals' than feed the poor and elderly and try to close the political divide a little.

How did we end up here.

Are you suggesting that elected official aren't offered the same benefits as appointed or hired federal employees, or that elected officials aren't allowed designated vacations?

a reply to: TruMcCarthy

Right. You probably believe that Donald Trump is an honest business man, that Don Jr and Eric don't communicate with their father on business, and that Ivanka is a fine role model for women. LOL

We're talking about a president who is breaking his "vacationing" promise, draining tax payer dollars at a record rate, charging them no less that $3 millions for each weekend golf getaway to Florida, while lining his own pockets with profits, and $900 per day so that his precious little "prince and the pea" doesn't have to change schools, board or be homeschooled. And that's not to mention his son's business trips abroad and Ivanka's family's security that we also pay for.

This president is screwing the tx payer, while at the same promising them that they're not going to make you pay for wasteful programs, like "Meals on Wheels" and Sesame Street!
