Since the election of Donald Trump, the Democratic Socialist Party has gained lots of new members.

According to a story, they have tripled their dues paying membership.

Could be momentum left over from the Bernie Sanders Campaign.

And the DSP seems to be quite anti-Trump.

Democratic Socialists of America Triples Membership Since Trump

Membership in the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) has tripled since Donald Trump’s election in November to over 19,000 paying members, a report from the Los Angeles Times reveals.

The group, founded in 1982, is now the largest socialist organization in the United States and recently published a “Resistance Rising” strategy to combat the Trump administration.

“On November 8, voters in the United States narrowly elected an openly racist, misogynist and nativist candidate for president,” the organization’s website reads. “We must understand ‘Trumpism’ as a cross-class white nativist alliance; the median family income of the 62 percent of white voters who supported Trump was higher than that of Hillary Clinton voters and wealthier than Bernie Sanders’ primary base.”

Predictable and sad. When will people finally understand that ideological greed is just as corrupt and even more so corrosive than the monetary sort?

Probably as many John Birchers and Shakers as Democratic Socialists.

I think Americans will go further left and right with hatred. Then the tree of liberty will be fed with blood. I'm a pessimistic person at heart. Good day y'all

Is it safe to call these people pinko commies yet?
Not quite a red commie bastard.
But definitely heading that direction.
This red white and blue blooded patriot will certainly stand and oppose these people.

Do you feel the same about the Green Party? I'm just saying...is far left worse than main stream democrats like Hillary or is it better?

Along the same lines...do you stand and oppose trump for his close ties with Red commies like putin?

An end such as "democratic socialism" could only result in North Korea. What a shame.

But North Korea isn't a "democratic socialist" nation.

That's like saying the "Democratic Republic of Congo" is an actual democracy.

I haven't seen a lot from Sanders that would indicate he want's to create fake store fronts and kill his opposition via mortar rounds. I probably missed that though.

There is no such thing as a democratic socialist nation, nor has there ever been. The democratic part is simply a ploy to get people to swallow the socialist part.

He's wrong, which is evidenced by his use of Denmark as an example. Denmark is a social democracy. He's a social democrat.

If it's anti-Constitutional, then the children can take it outside to play with.

Not inside though.

We're making progress so what would you call someone that holds the values of a social democracy?

A career politician would never lie for personal gain.
And they would never do anything bad for the citizens.

Another great example of alternate facts AKA "bullsh!t". If you had said China, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Canada, Sweden, Norway, or Ireland and could have at least a halfway believable case instead you went with the old "every political view I don't like is North Korea which is the same as everyone I disagree with is Hitler.

Congrats on falling to another low.

A social democrat. Social democracies exists within a capitalist framework, whereas a democratic socialist aims to promote democratic principles within a socialist framework.
