Zbigniew Brzezinski said the biggest threat to them in the 21st century (speaking at a CFR meeting) was the electorate becoming politically aware ...2016 started a jump to that political enlightenment for the masses ....ATS is just doing its job and doing a fine job at that

I agree with the dislike of the direction it went, but I think thats largely just whats going on in society at large. We didnt escape it here anymore than basically anywhere else on the internet. It has been infectious thought.

One of the most divisive elections in history and lots of conspiracy theories abound on both sides. Thus, you will see the threads.

I am irritated by the sheer volume, but most are people who make threads about political stuff. Even if I disagree on the plethora of pro Trump threads, most are from long time posters and I don't think they are trying to subvert the purpose of ATS. They are just posting on what they are interested in and what they get replies from. For the most part.

ATS has become infiltrated with people, with the sole purpose of encouraging disaccord and division amongst members IMO. Many of the political post read more like a psych ops experiment than they do a group discussion. I think it’s plain as day to a lot of members, especially ones that have been here for awhile. I guarantee that the majority of people making these post would never have the balls to say what they say to your face and I think some don’t even believe the crap they’re posting. So much of it feels scripted out of some college psych book 101 that I seriously don’t think some of these people could be that stupid and or ignorant but I’v been wrong before.


Oh the irony, a conspiracy within a conspiracy forum, gotta love that.

I does really seem like that. Not limited to here for sure. Albeit surely some just love the bickering(but some not taking the replies though for their actions) and well, the political circus is great for that.

But who? A lot of newer members are obviously politically trolling. When you use the word infiltrate, that is a strong word.

If you see that, you should alert it. Making yet another post about it doesn;t really help.

When you become the population that accounts for Above Top Secret, you realize the numbers is substantial. In turn the media or influential groups seek out the most populous sites to promote their agenda's. Or Attack... ATS just happens to be one.

The ott years were rewarding as membership increased rapidly, and with topics that mesmerized and encouraged the mysterious. The rules were less lenient then and the increasing vitriol was stopped in it's tracks by and large. It would seem liberalism abounds here, and has polarized two distinct groups, pro and con. Not to paint with too wide a brush, as most know there are approximately 100 forum here. Sparse use of other topics has been the rule lately.

Interest will recede and people will focus elsewhere. The last 8 and a half years have been a Nantucket Sleigh ride.

Yup. You got it! Yes! ...It's called "Social Engineering," and sure seems like a number of mods are supporting, encouraging and promoting the (over)simplification, redirection and polarization.

I have tried desperately to discuss a variety of topics, but no go! Everything gets twisted to being a simple "for or against" poll. Republican or Democrat. All about Trump and the USA.

Interesting youre referring to the whole instead of individualized interests. No one is making you accumulate data from the NEW, LIVE or TOP forums.

Go to only the topic-sites youre interested in then..........and if your NOT...youre judging by pieces of the whole-minus the individual topical forums...which remain the pretty much the same

The only thing I'm seeing, is a direct attack on ATS, the owners and staff for adhering to the Constitution of the United States of America.

Now I have no idea if they were paid but they certainly were/are some type of marketing/journalism professional. (BTW there is many ways to pay a person without a direct monetary contribution - jobs for them or their relatives is a big one - paying for site advertisements (hint)

For sure, the current political climate in USA is both important and interesting. The decisions made by Trump 'in power' will reverberate across the world and already are doing so. The actions of Clinton over the years is enough to make an open-minded researcher sick with disgust at the people who hold power in the world. Regardless of how interesting and important all of this is it is NOT as important or interesting as the topics which should be the focus of ATS.

ATS has just a whole lot of "shooters" and "snipers" in the political and social forums (however not limited to). That covers a lot of the flap........but you are correct otherwise. Hackery will win the day most of the time. I am already seeing areas developing that may not get proper coverage because talk will set off a new round of shooting only.

For example.....what ever side you are on, you should be able to see that the insurance firms are still firmly in charge of the health care thingy and it never really was a partisan issue at its core.

ATS is a private corporation, not a public forum, and the Constitution (namely the First Amendment), does not specifically apply, hence the very specific T&C.
