ATS, don't be this guy, no one likes it.

I like it. Now I can look at the other thread too.

I love it.

Oh btw, as Phage pointed out in that thread from January...

It'd been posted already, lol!

www.abovetopsecret.com...

That's from September 2016.

Older threads can still have interesting discussions!

This thread appears to have been created in response to a Wall Street Journal article, dated yesterday, the 8th of March, 2017.

It is therefore legitimate, in that the thread revolves around that, rather than the older article involved in the previous threads. It is, however, a great shame that the WSJ article is behind a paywall.

Time doesn't exist.

The timestamp of your post says otherwise.

Perhaps it was helpful to some members (as WakeUpBeer mentioned) that I posted a thread to the earlier discussion as well. You seem pretty upset about this - why don't you make a thread about it to engage in a civil discussion regarding it?

Sometimes we need to take a look at our own actions instead of just going after others without reflecting on how we come off

You could have been more pleasant in your approach

You haven't visited a DMV office, then.

Wow that was actually very easy to understand, thank you so much. Now, to further my education... why is this important? What could these time crystals be used for?

But all atoms move or vibrate

wiki

Kinetic theory of matter: All matter is made up of atoms and molecules that are constantly moving. When heat is added to a substance, the molecules and atoms vibrate faster. As atoms vibrate faster, the space between atoms increases.

Thanks for your assistance - but I'm finding it hard to understand, I also asked from my reading of articles that...

They haven't been created yet, just the maths has been done; am I correct in my understanding? Don't beat me up please...hard to wrap my head around a lot of high physics...

Too smart for me. Can anyone break this down super simple?

I reccomend the video game Time tenshi. they even go into 4th dimensional lenses created by time crystals.

Does this mean we're getting Kryptonian-style computers soon?

But with a 'time crystal', they swap places. Not just phonon vibrations in the crystal lattice.

Hey couldn't you make a perpetual motion machine with magnets?

I just love how intellectually intimidating this stuff comes across as... I thought I should break it down... Sum up the substance if I can...

It is theorized a time crystal can create perpetual motion by causing a break in the symmetry of time.
Time is an extra dimension.
A time crystal must change with time, but keep coming back to the same form it started as, like a changing rubics cube.
It is a state of minimum energy, motionless.
When matter crystallizes, it arranges into rows, columns, stacks, a 3D lattice; and atoms don't occupy space between lattice points; this becomes discrete, not continuous and is said to break the spatial symmetry of nature.
In conclusion, time is separate from space.
...
Uh, can anyone help me understand next steps to this theory?

There is a difference between vibration and movement in this context. Yes, the atoms in a diamond vibrate, but they do not move around the volume of the diamond, as water swirls within a glass.

Also, if you refer to the article in the opening post of this thread, it clearly states that they HAVE actually been created and observed in laboratory conditions recently.

Biff,

The answer to this, or at least part of it, can be found in the second quoted segment in the opening post in this thread

LOL nobody is experiencing any Mandela Effect, they are just experiencing false memories, but their ego won't allow them to admit they are wrong so they "Have to" blame it something other than them self.
