Democrats Depressed, Disoriented, Demoralized, Devastated and Discredited

The Democrat Party as a whole has been in a downward spiral since the 2010 elections.

It was bad enough with their Congressional losses plus the State and Local elected leadership failing to win.

Then they got nailed with the election of Trump as a Republican in the 2016 general elections.

Now comes Trump in a speech to a joint session of Congress on Feb 28th.

Democrats in the "session" were just downright depressed and in denial beyond belief.

What are they going to do now anyway?

Their current leadership is totally dried up and no new people seem to be stepping up to take control.

The MSM is still stuck on stupid too, and that is the biggest problem.

And of course there was the absolutely pathetic "Democrats' response" after Trump's speech to Congress as well.

It was the worst night for Democrats since November 8, 2016. After President Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress, Rachel Maddow looked as though a loved one has just died – the same face she had on Election Night. Her fellow panelists, desperate for something to criticize, focused on the president using two hands to pick up a cup.

The Democratic Party members watching that speech looked like a party of the living dead. They didn't know how to react. They didn't know if they were Americans. They didn't know who they were.

Every time Trump called for bipartisanship for the good of our country, they winced. They couldn't stand it and didn't know how to react because they are the least bipartisan people in the world and they scarcely know what cooperating is. Working together is not in their natures.

The Democrats' response was simply pathetic, delivered by a former governor of Kentucky who was replaced by a Republican. The party that is obsessed with identity politics chose an old white guy with white hair who reminded every cable TV viewer of a pitchman for products and services sold to seniors.

I read this story on Rosie O'Donnell.

Entertainer Rosie O’Donnell said President Donald Trump should be charged with treason over the investigation of possible connections between the Trump campaign and Russian government officials.

She called Trump a “mentally ill man” and predicted that he will eventually “go down” along with his entire administration

You say divisive, I say reality. 'Divisive' is a typical keyword of the left intended to show their moral authority. The truth is, Americans by and large are tired of it all. They want results, and unfortunately that will mean some ugly (but necessary) business. What the Democrats don't realize yet, is that their grandstanding, pouting, whining, and 'divisive' behavior is only hurting their own. Their audience is only their own supporters because no one else is listening. And, their base is steadily shrinking. The more they kick and scream, the deeper they will dig their own hole. Hopefully, so deep they can never climb from it.

For me anyway, the death of classic liberalism coincided with the election of William Jefferson Clinton, to be called hence forth by me, Slick Willy. He spoke the liberal clichés, presented himself as a savior from another four years of Bush, and played his saxophone on rate topping national television programs. He then rode the burgeoning ecomomic wave of digital technology and took personal credit for the economic boom . When he got caught doing hush hush thiings that previous presidents had done, he lied about it. And then did it again. And got caught again, and again and again. And Slick Hilly stood by and said nary a word. Cheating and lying and defending was not the liberalism I knew.

For me, if there is to be any future to liberalism in the US, it needs to start by stripping the gloss from the image of those two frauds. We need to thank our conservative friends for doing that with Slick Hllly. They have poked the hot air balloon of the Slick Fantasy and real liberals need to stand up and finish them both off.

If she runs again for anything, run against her. If her media buddies give her a job, don't tune in. Give her no ratings to entice sponsors and investors.

She should be shunned by all liberals because it was she, no, SHE who turned our nation over to a mad man. A real liberal would have known that. A real liberal would have recognized the rumblings of the of the people and taken the higher course, recognizing the very real will of the rising generation of Democrats and she, did, not. And why? We need to answer that question, why. We don't need conservatives telling us why, We need liberals telling us why. We need to find out for ourselves.

Slick Hilly has killed the so called ''liberal'' Democratic Party.

Why? Because she is not.......liberal. That's my answer.

If liberalism stands any chance of doing what our conservative friends think they just have, saving this great nation, it needs to look, right now, find the true and genius liberals among them and bring them forth now. Not later, Not next ? election but now.
Do not wait for the Democrat Party to revive. Take over its rotting corpse now, or leave it to rot for what it has done to us. Torn to shreds by a con man.

Imagine putting all your marbles on getting citizenship for illegals and more immigrants in general, because your older population groups(whites) believe in small government and have turned down your ideas before(1960's).

They then waited and become moderates for 30 years or so. hoping the immigration law of 1965 and amnesty would give them the numbers they needed. It was really close.
Democrats would be non-existent if we used voting demographics of 1965 and applied them to today.

They were hoping to open the floodgates, we see what they wanted, the west coast states want to become sanctuary states aka borderless states.

Hillary would have tried amnesty and no deportations, everyone and their mother was going to cross the border.
The states are trying it anyways.

I have known some democratic congressmen, they were good people. They are stuck, the Democratic congressmen got a bum wrap. Their party spent too much money and time promoting Hillary, that was the decision of a few of their top members, not all their members.

There is no reason for so much Polarization between congress. They are supposed to be working for the good of the people. They are not supposed to be working for the good of a few big wheels in Europe that want to put all the world under one control. So they messed up, they thought they were doing what was good for us but in essence they were brainwashed by the NWO group whatever it's real name is.

If our country is economically strong, we can help others in need in this world. Not with fake money, with real money. We need to investigate exactly which chemistry in our food supply is weakening our immune system and get rid of it so we can get healthier and work better. We need to bring up the ability to people to think clearly, not dope us up so that we will believe all the lies that are flying around. We need to suck it up and work towards making our country and it's people more respected in the world, not by building military but by setting an example by our actions. Sure we need a strong military, we need soldiers and these soldiers can be used to help in disasters to clean up the mess when we have them. Right now we are spending money on technology, a lot of money on things that only have one purpose. To destroy. What about if the military also has equipment to help rebuild? They do not have to compete against the private sector businesses either, they can work with them.

Maybe if we get to know the soldiers better more people will learn to respect them and they will learn to respect us as citizens better. We can't treat them like hired help.

So the word 'divisive' used here on ATS is exclusive to lefties and not numerous members in general that are tired of the the animosity? The Americans you speak of, "tired of it all,"does that not include many of them from both sides of the aisle tired of the divisiveness and destruction amongst our citizens, families, co-workers and peers?
Is voicing a concern considered kicking and screaming and not a genuine concern about unity? I don't know man, it just seems to me many of us acknowledge partisan destructiveness and yet it continues. I don't mind addressing lefty policies or figureheads, but these generalizations do more harm than good imo.

The old, tired Republican... I mean "Democrat" they wheeled out in front of the camera in their "response" (sorry, don't know or care to know his name) was laughable. The thing about this "response" is that it's not a response to the President's speech at all. It was written/prepared BEFORE Trump's speech!! So how is it a response? In what was it a response to?? (rhetorical questions)

Also, it reminded me of an old man... so old and weathered that he speaks with a whistle! (no offense to anyone that speaks with a whistle)

Don't let it bother you. They're just adding fuel to the fire which will consume them in the end. Let them enjoy their childish little revenge and shallow victory. Let them sing into the night drunk with power as they damage the fabric of society. It will be their undoing.

Take your anger and disgust for what they are doing and let it simmer and let it be a reminder that when the tide turns they deserve no mercy. That when they beg for understanding and peace after their drunken orgy is over and they are left hungover and sick that you can give them no aid for their pain. For they continue to twist the knife in your belly even now for no reason other than to delight in your misfortune.

Yeah, he's made quite the reputation for himself around here as a propagandist and troll for the right.

Although there is some truth to the fact that the Democrats are in deed lost and seem unable to understand the folly of their ways. They still think using the same fake approach is going to work in the future. Personality Politics and two faced policies and lies aren't going to work anymore. They need real genuine courage and commitment and to grow some balls for once and put some real strength in charge. That is all that can save them at this point but they still aren't getting it.
