I'm giving up lent...

I'm a lapsed Catholic, but usually on Lent I give up heroin. The fact that I've never tried heroin, or any other opiates, helps me through those difficult 6 weeks. That Easter morning after Lent, though... man it sure feelsgoodman to do exactly the same thing I've done the other 364 days of the year and continue not touching heroin.

Even though I'm not religious at all, can I still play the Lent game? I'd be more than willing to give up being an adult with adult-ish responsibilities for Lent.

Except sex. Not parting with that one. Just the bill-paying, chore-doing, children-rearing part. A 6-week vacation from being responsible sounds fekking awesome.

Not being Catholic, I never gave up anything for Lent. Closest I ever came was religiously giving up pop for track season every year.

That won't work now since I've been off pop for over a decade which has made me as big a tea drinker as any Brit.

Nothing, because it is a Christian ritual and I don't believe in any gods
