Democrats have elected Tom Perez to the Chairmanship of the Democrat National Committee.

The voting finally ended and Perez defeated Keith Ellison.

Maybe they can get their act together ?

Tom Perez elected as first Latino leader of Democratic Party

Former Labor Secretary Tom Perez was elected as the first Latino chair of the Democratic National Committee on Saturday, defeating Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) at a contentious party meeting in Atlanta.

“With hard work and a hell of a lot of organizing, we will turn this party around,” Perez said before he had locked up enough votes to win 235 to 200 votes on a second ballot.

As Perez’s victory was announced, nine Ellison supporters chanted “power of the people, not big money,” then stormed out of the room.

This is yet another slap in the face to the Bernie Sanders wing of the party.

Appears to be an establishment pick. Well, maybe that is better than a devoted leftest loon.

I am very disappointed. Ellison would have been a far better choice in terms of mobilizing the base and from reports, hes far better at understanding the local and State organizations needs. The Blacks are going to be very disappointed and sadly, they have no where else to go in terms of Party affiliation.

Sad day really.

More of the same.

The Democratic Party becomes more and more irrelevant with each passing day where they refuse to change.

It really is. The Leftists are taking a beating. And they are the Democrats best hope for stopping Trump.

That infographic of yours needs to be corrected, he did say that the primary was rigged against Bernie but then walked it back.

Good for them.

Just for the record, he also made Rep. Ellison the Deputy Chairman. They'll be working together, though we'll see in what capacity later on.

Too bad, I was hoping the democrats would pick Ellison. Choosing a left-wing loon, radical Muslim sympathizer would have weakened their party even further.

If the liberals weren't in free-fall right now they would have embraced the most vibrant wing of their party -- the Sandernistas, and voted in the Sanders-endorsed Ellison.

I agree that the only chance the Left has in 2020 is going to be the Biggest Christmas of all Time. They will have to pull out all the stops to get every single one of their Dependent 47% out to vote.

I think they'll lose anyway and probably set themselves up for a 7 - 2 conservative Trump Supreme Court until 2040 or so, but only time will tell.

Yeah bummer Ellison didn't get the seat.

The dems are at least making lemonade with all the lemons they have.

Trying to make lemonade, anyway.

Will there be a lawsuit in the future from Keith Ellison that he lost because he was an Anti Semitic Muslim?

Maybe the guy will have some refreshing ideas, their party has been going down the tubes lately and they need someone to help get it back to normal. They spent too much time and money on Hillary, they should have been spending more time with getting congressmen elected. They lost some more seats

Just because they made mistakes this last election doesn't mean they can't turn things around eventually. Many of their congressmen are nice people, they do have a few bad ones though.

Political establishment Democrats want to keep their status quo. It's a losing strategy but I bet they think they can beat Trump with a Hilary 2.0, or Hilary herself.

They refuse to learn from their mistakes.
