Well, saving your various site passwords on your smartphone is certainly convenient. But not having them listed for the purpose of supplementing your shoddy memory is just plain stupid. At least, in my case. I have had to create this account because, after deciding to take a break from ATS (and a few other forums) for a bit during the pre-election insanity, my phone was destroyed. I was unable to recover data from it before replacing it, and I could not recall the password for my original account. Also, the recover password feature seems to be squirrely these days.
So, here I am again. Formerly 'pfishy', so I chose a recognizable variant of that user name for this account. I have missed you folks over the last few months. And I'm positive the feeling is NOT mutual. Which is perfectly understandable. I am, at best, utterly unremarkable and simply not a memorable human being. But somebody has to fill that role, and I'm quite happy to do so to the very best of my abilities.

Welcome back! I can't say the level of sanity has increased any since the election, though.

Ummm...being as you are purposely not pfishing for complements...

I'll reel back on any line that might resemble any...

I will also try and keep any barbed snark from hooking you as well...

...Here's to an in depth opining...that was pure in both element and consistency...without watering down the message...

I'm in the process of trying to figure out exactly whom to address the U2U to.

I got your message, BTW, but I'm not sure that I am who you're thinking I am. But thanks.

Heh heh... I did the same thing.

This is my second ATS ID. My original (2004 +/-) was the victim of a divorce (2009). I rambled for a year-and-a-half or so after that and when I finally went to logon to ATS after all that time I found that I had forgotten everything -- even the ID itself!

Lesson learned!

Welcome back!

I can understand completely how that could happen. But before I read through your entire explanation, I was quietly wondering how good the lawyer had to be that could get a judge to give your ex your ATS account in the divorce settlement.

I doubt she even knew what ATS was or that I was a member...

From Board Questions: How To Properly Alert Posts and Threads.

Basically, use the "down arrow" and choose "Complain" which brings up a U2U that starts "Note to staff" then enter a correct subject line like "A little help?" or some such.

Any moderator can respond and help you out!

PS - Welcome back pfishy!

Hi pfishylives,

I am checking with ATS staff to see what we can do to try and get you your old account back again. You have over 2,000 posts and it'd be a pity to let it go. So keep an eye out as you might get a PM soon.

Much appreciated. I have never actually clicked the "complain" button. Didn't seem like I had ever really found anything to complain about. Might be helpful to just re-label it as 'contact', 'mods' or 'support'. Something along those lines. I honestly just figured it was a function to send pointless whining to the circular file...

Yeah, that would be a better label.

And I went looking in the FAQ instead of Board Questions. Maybe another thread in Freshman Forums??

Anyway, glad to help!
