How did I know this thread would be about a person of color? This is how it starts.

It was something police weren't expecting to hear. "What they found out is that the family is from Saudi Arabia and they said that this is culturally acceptable for them -- it's normal."

And the police believed them? What dumb cops. Why special treatment - only some of the laws apply to some of the people?

Wot an idiot.
Guy should be hung.

Ah yes, how realistic our culture is though. Lets hang them because baby got a sunburn. We should really just start killing everyone that offends Republicans for real. Hang people for abortions, etc. Then when all these children grow up without parents we can jail and hang them. It's honestly impressive how offended the Right gets when they do get frenzied. These same 'shocked' people probably leave their dog in the car. And Republicans probably most often leave their children in the car. The idea the little snot can fend for himself for an hour isn't liberal...So who exactly are you guys crying about this? My mom left me in the car before. Once for a whole hour!!!!

Also, for the record we all agree here the normal 'American treatment' is the full shaft of the law at all times?

Great. It will be nice to not hear you complain about excessive police and sentencing in the future of our new prison planet/country.

I think We have finally figured out why You are so challenged in life.

Ooohh they can ride in them. Who else would watch the kids while dad drives? They just can't drive em

This must be that white privilege I keep hearing about- I'd be in prison and I'd never see my kids again if I had done this.

what perp has never given a bad excuse to police. as if there havent been worst excuses told to cops. and people here just go off the rails obviously because of the country they said they were from.
as if it fuc-king true that its part of their culture to leave children in car in SA where it gets in the triple digits. you vitriolic mongs who believe it is 'culture' to do this just to have some misguided outrage under false pretenses, if you believe it is a 'culture' thing you are as dumb and absent minded as those cops.

dont use it as an excuse to come out the wood works and express your disdain for all things muslims, no its not culture to leave children in cars in one of the most hottest places on earth. no one asked about the well being of the child or what is the official police report, or how long were the parents in for, what was the temperature, etc... nothing justifies leaving a child in car, nothing justifies why people simply believe IT IS cultural to do this, you are as fuc-ked as those LEOs if you disregard that its not really the 'culture' in any country to leave kids locked up in cars just to be outrage because they are muslims, and making it about race and throwing blacks and any minorities in there.

those mong LEOs need to be fired immediately. what if a bank robber tells them its money for charity after a heist, would they believe it too? would that be about race or dumb LEOs with weapons and itchy trigger fingers who cant make an assessment and uphold the law they sworn to uphold.

in a country where 80% of the time is spent indoors because of the heat, and you twits, just to be outrage at muslims buy that it is cultural and rant on privilege, rant on the fu-ckwit dumb cops. anyone can say anything to get out of a ticket or jail time, this isnt as much as it is about SA natives, as it is the police buying a blatant lie to get out of a sticky situation, and of course the population here showing immediately their true colors even if they fu-cking know, theres no possible way, or have never heard anything remotely close to this being a 'cultural' thing to leave kids in cars unattended in SA where it goes up to 120 degrees and where the elderly and children are always warned about the heat.

Not good to leave a child unattended.
So that was a bad decision. And is against the law

Did any of you even notice that it was 11PM? I see comments about sunburn, hot cars, etc...
it was night time. So this is about an unattended child.

b/c they were Saudis it became about race/privilege, if it was negligent parents from rural alabama, it would have been normal or a hicks thing

You do realize that there are times of the year where 11pm at night can still kill when locked in a car due to heat. Yes I know this is not the correct time of year and/or geographical location. But say you do that in AZ in the middle of summer. 11pm it can still be 105+ out there. That is still a very high temp to leave any being locked in a car.

if the parents were black they would have been arrested.

part of the thug culture is to commit crimes so maybe thugs shouldn`t be arrested for any crimes they commit.

when the police try to prove that they aren`t racist by allowing people to commit crimes, then you know that PC hasn`t gotten way out of control.

Sure, there are times and places where it's hot at night.
But, like you say those elements weren't in play.

The issue in this case, in my opinion, was that the child was unattended.
That's illegal, but why is that illegal? Is it because a stranger could do harm to an unattended child?
And if that's the case, that an unattended child can come to harm in a locked car, at night. What "culture" is the real problem here?

posted on Feb, 15 2017 @ 01:10 PM
My problem is police culture- because if I had done that, no matter what, I'd be in prison and my children would belong to the state.

Because I'm a white middle aged guy, and the laws actually apply to me- even if I'm ignorant of them.
Which I am, most of the time... because as a nation we have more laws than people.

No officer, i am not trespassing on my neighbor's land. I am invoking manifest destiny and claiming it as my own. You see, i am caucasion of european decent, stealing land is a traditional part of my culture.

Pick and choose, huh? Somebody should be getting fired over this.

If that child has died, then what?

i don't really think that it could be called police culture, it's more likely the other PC you know politically correct. most police chiefs job have a political aspect to them.

So if US ever topples a foreign gov't in the ME we can just say "Sorry, its common in the US." And then no War Crimes trials!

I like this New World Order

Oh hell no. If i went to another country and committed a crime, i would be dealt with accordingly. I can't even believe this happened. But, a sigh of relief, as this is something Trump will put his foot down on. Any other person would've been thrown in jail. Disgusting

It is still an active investigation though until they figure out how PC they need to be so as to avoid protests, Government overview, and all the other bad stuff that seems to go down that road.

Is it right? I don't know. Lets see what the investigation turns up. Makes the mind go wild speculating what might turn up, since the investigation allows the law to look very closely at this family. Maybe nothing.

"What a missed opportunity for a teachable moment. Give the Saudi Arabian American the real authentic American police experience" The american experience; slavery is legal but we're going to go to war to show you that all of us are equal!!@!!!!! That's a real nice meme of sponge bob, but I honestly cannot imagine you jumping over a trench quicker than me, maybe because you keep on alluding to bringing him into the fold or maybe because of this guy who lives ina pineapple under the sea...

Yup - we went to war to show the Brits we were all equal too! You go and jump that trench, bro!

Slavery is actually ILLEGAL. Don't leave kids in cars.
