It was wise for the Trump Administration to put distance between itself and Flynn.

Our country needs to move forward .... to heck with Democrats/Republicans conspiring to undermine one another.

It's never been enforced, however the rationale for one to 'distance' themselves is not such a bad idea, the other however is that Trump seems to be punch drunk, since it toook hiiimmm a whiile to boookkke it up. Hic!
