Devo definitely not punk but great nonetheless. Loved their version of "Satisfaction." I never got huge on Bad Brains, but all the California guys were great. I'll give your stuff a listen. Thanks

Also for hours of punk listening, I recommend any THPS soundtrack or punk-o-rama album.

Classic. Made my kids watch it when each of them turned 15. Told them if they didn't get it they weren't thinking hard enough.

Love it. Maybe the most quintessential punk voice.

I always liked The Saints. This song was considered to be the First "Punk" song of the 70s era (by the British Media of the time), predating the British scream and spit rubbish.
The Saints never considered themselves a "Punk" band, they were just a bunch of kids playing their sort of music, in their era 1974 on. This song is from 1976.

You can go back to the 60's for what is considered the first ever Punk Song. It's this.

Saw Green Day when they did a free outdoor show in Boston in '94. They only played like 4 songs and it turned into a riot. My girlfriend was pregnant with our first kid at the time. Always tell my daughter it was the first concert she ever went to.

Great band the Kinks......But the "Punk" song term originated in the late 1970s, nothing to do with 60s music.

This Kinks song and their other rock song "All day and all of the night", were their only real hard rockers.....a couple of years after these songs, they were singing tame ol' popish songs like, Sunday Afternoon, Im an Ape Man, Well respected man....tho Lola of around 1970-71 was a little rocky....but No, the Kinks were Never Punk Song makers.

I know, they were great weren't they. Sorry the video won't work. Ring of Fire. Gotta have some cojones to cover Johnny Cash...heard that he was a fan.
