No. You're mixing the two methods together.

Congress can propose an amendment and vote up or down on it, and it passes with two-thirds of both houses in support, then send it to the states to ratify with a three-fourths vote in support.

OR

Two-thirds of state legislatures can call for a constitutional convention, at which point they all get together and can vote on it. A three-fourths vote passes the amendment.

Congress itself doesn't hold a convention to do anything.

As someone who falls into the trump supporter camp ( i voted Johnson BTW.) , i am thankful to know i am not the only one on ATS who sees this.

Saying bad things about the President is not even close to sedition.

Sedition is plotting to or conspiring to overthrow the government.

If we're going to start accusing people of criminal acts it's probably a good idea to be familiar with the acts pertinent to the accusations.
