You hope none. I hope none as well. This man is shrinking government spending just about everywhere so don't expect a global usa push for "fill-in-the-agenda".

This is a country, not a business. Other countries recognize what they are and are trying to help.

Are the other countries 20 Trillion in debt?

It's MY body MY choice and ALL contraceptives can fail. Talk to me when you have to face that in your body.

Agreed any contraceptive can fail. Are you saying that in the case of contraceptive failure there would be a valid reason to wait more than 20 weeks to do something about it?

Are the other countries spending 600 billions in military yearly?

How much of that are we spending to defend other countries?

Hey don't tell that to me!

I'm all for Trump being smart and getting budget cuts where they would be the most productive. Instead of cutting a meager contribution to keeping the population of poor countries under control, why not spending less "defending" other countries.

Trump would get a lot more respect doing this instead of pleasing Christian fundamentalists with a symbolic cut that won't solve the budget problem at all.

I'm sure there are tons of people worldwide who would be happy if they were less "defended" by the US if that means less chance of getting their face bombed.

You're assuming that everyone against this is a Christian fundamentalist. I know many atheists, and even women who agree with this.

The budget is not the point. I don't care if its five bucks a year. Why should the US be responsible, on any level, for people abroad getting abortions?

I don't expect the average joe to realize that it's a win win for everyone if there are less babies being born in poor countries, where they would eventually become emigrants or even terrorists out of spite.

If you want to fight a disease (terrorism) you can either attack the symptoms or the cause. A smart physician will attack the cause.

Question is, is Trump smart? Or more relevant; does he really wish to fight immigration and terrorism? My little pinky tells me that he, in fact, doesn't care about fixing problems for the US.

So in your worldview, US taxpayer sponsored abortions are just another means of "fighting the terrorists".

So that means that the "average joe" as you put it should pay for them?

Why not just forcibly sterilize them everyone that's not an American then? After all, how do you know they won't grow up to be a terrorist or an immigrant from a family overseas that actually has kids and raises them?

I mean, you, like Trump, can keep pretending you live in an isolated bubble called the US, and that the horizon of your projective thinking isn't further than 4 years down the road, until the next elections, and that you can keep that bubble intact from outside influence by building walls big enough.

But that wouldn't be very smart, and would face a violent wake-up call sooner than later

And yet the question I asked goes totally unanswered, except for some "fighting the terrorists" nonsense that really does not apply at all here.

So tell me, why should I, as an American taxpayer, should want to fund any abortions overseas?

It was answered. You just willingly ignore it, probably because it conflicts your worldviews.

It's in your interest, as an American, to make sure there is less poverty and overpopulation in the rest of the world. Because those who are poor will be naturally attracted to emigrate to (or even attack out of jealousy), the richest and most free countries.

I mean that is if, like Trump and people who voted for him, you actually care about the problem of immigrants coming to the US and terrorists attacking them.

You can keep shouting "not in my backyard" or America first all you want, your neighbors have their own life and make their own decisions regardless of what you wish. Ignoring them won't make them magically disappear out of your life. Maybe it's your plan, but it's just trying to flee from reality instead of facing it. Kind of a deluded attitude if you ask me.

I'm sure that's what Trump will come up with next though. I mean it's already what the far-right conservatives did in Israel and Germany. If Bannon manages to slip the idea to Trump, it might also pass.

A small price to pay to preserve the American dream from being disrupted by hordes of poors knocking at your door.

"trumps global anti-abortion move"

Umm... Reuters, this wasn't an "anti abortion move", this was a "stop funding overseas move" to reduce national debt. It was obvious that other countries would step up to cover the withdrawal of funding by the US, Trump would have been aware of this and I am sure this has worked out perfectly. Same funding the groups receive, less money sent abroad by the US.

Now just for comparison pull up the amount of annual funding that goes to Israel. Perhaps the amount that goes to the DOD.

The amount of savings that simply decriminalizing all pot related crimes would save the US is staggering. Just in case anyone thinks it's about the money....it's not.

Exactly. It's only about pleasing the voters. It could even potentially, down the line, cost more to the US in terms of dealing with the problems caused by overpopulation and poverty worldwide.

Awesome News! Trump is already making other countries step up and saving us some some money! #MAGA

my thoughts exactly,
but why did they wait until now to do it?
this proves that people can do things for themselves if you take away the welfare and other freebies.
