If I went anywhere around here asking for lumpia, they would just think I was a dumb gringo asking for some cleaning.

Tex-mex as far as the eye can see. With one Menonite enclave offering some hellacious verenika.

I love Tex-mex. I grow up in soCal a lifetime ago and would drive into the desert with my step-pop. Tex-mex is superb.

Never had a verenika. It's a meat dumpling right?

This county is strange because it's tri-lingual. Low-German, Spanish and English.

Yea, over there you guys call them perogies. Cheese filled most of the time, served with zamabarched.. I doubt I'm spelling that correctly. It's a weird textured dried sausage.

You ever have a he'brew?

They have a wicked Lenny Bruce double rye coming in at 10%

I'll have to try it, I think I've seen it at world market. I haven't been there since Lubbock got a Spec's.

Funny, I just watched that Dustin Hoffman movie. That's going to be one offensive IPA.

This is the beer that turned me onto sours. It's a prairie brewery sour at 7.5%
It is one of my favorite beers. So good on a hot day. I highly recommend this.

Now that I know you're a cook, I can ask about your avatar. Prawns or snails? Or am I way off?

I've been pondering some of the sours, just never could bring myself to keep it in the cart. This thread is a treasure of references now for my next trip to the little big city.

They're prawns at the Chelsea market.
The seafood there is amazing. I was looking for the full size pic but couldn't find it.

I think this thread could benefit from this tho......

That is a cool road trip.

None of the beer snobs ever mention Texas breweries. I still don't know why.

I need to write up an article. The 2000 mile brewery road-trip that never leaves Texas.

I missed getting to tour Big Bend Brewery by one day. They only do tours on Saturdays.

Yeah, you're right. I guess lone star ain't good enough for them

I think we both know the answer and don't get mad. Texas is a black hole for the road trip. I have driven cross country so many times but Texas, whew, Texas takes forever.
