Today I purchased 2 slabs of pork spareribs for Sunday's big game.

I plan on marinating them starting tomorrow with a herb/lemon/garlic marinate for a day, then late Saturday night/early Sunday morning, wrap them in foil, bbq'ed, and slow cook for 12 -14 hours at 200F.

Any tips, am I way off base here?

Why did you tell me now when I just left Oregon?

Way off base. None of the invitations got through, or is it just me? Is this not an ATS event? Christ, these food discussions on these site make me hungry.

I agree, now I need to watch Gordon Ramsey, some competitive eating, and down a pizza, lol

All I'd say is make sure the foil is as tight as possible. Oh and if a little bit of whiskey or beer falls in the marinade on accident its OK, leave it.

Gordon Ramsey is rather entertaining I have to say. Hell's Kitchen and Master Chef both being decent cooking shows.

I liked Robert Irvine a lot until I saw he sold out and got a white trash day show like Dr Phil.

Will do on the foil, I was worried about "venting" but I wanted to keep in the moisture.

I might be able to find a wee bit of whiskey somewhere around. Maybe.

Yeah, you're going to over cook them. That's a good timeframe for a brisket but too long for ribs.

I'm glad you saw this!

How long should I "slow cook" them?

Thanks,

now all I can think about are soft, tender, juicy, fall off the bone, slow cooked, sweet and savory, bit of char, golden, delicious, finger-lickin, licking my fingers, drooling... Brb
