I was wondering when Defense Secretary "Mad Dog" Mattis would weigh in on North Korea. Today he's saying that Kim Jung's "reckless behavior" must be stopped.

Story: www.foxnews.com...

I think James Mattis is more sincere than Obama's Secretary of Defense. Maybe North Korea will take his words more seriously.

We are dropping leaflets and handing out USB drives with news from the outside of the DPRK to its citizens.

These purges of KJU's own party started because they started to ask questions of the decisions he was making.

It is a slow process. The rhetoric and threats are easy for KJU. I really wish China and Russia would not see change as a threat to their borders and sovereignty. We are putting pressure on China to do something but they seemed to afraid of all the North Korean citizen flooding into their country if they do.

Kim Jong Un is playing a "game of chicken" and chess at the same time. A very dangerous game with unknown results.

Mr. [Ash] Carter said the Obama and previous US administrations had appealed for China to put more pressure on Pyongyang to end its nuclear weapons program.

However he said China was reluctant to do so in case it led to war or the collapse of North Korea which would result in a unified Korea and its allies on its border.

Meanwhile US President Donald Trump said the US was prepared to act unilaterally to deal with North Korea’s nuclear program if China didn’t.

“Well, if China is not going to solve North Korea, we will. That is all I am telling you,” he [Trump] said in an interview with the Financial Times of London.

(.au), April 4, 2017 - North Korea: War with US would come with ‘intensity of violence’ we haven’t seen in decades.

Ash Carter, Obama's Defense Secretary, was speculating that the US could win a war with North Korea but it would be disastrous for Seoul, specifically, and South Korea in general.

I thought that was so badass when he said. Who in the world is laaughing at he USA now huh?? No more petting faces of the President of the USA, no more insulting our President's mother, no more BS! If we re going to strike, they need to do it before the end of the year though, otherwise they will move things round and be more prepared for the inevitable.

In the tower of Jenga that the area is, I am not sure a strike against NK is a "smart" move. That would give more power to the UN as countries that have a beef to grind come out against the US and then what?? Do we ignore the UN, then all other countries will do the same. That is one step closer to WW3.

Although I do like the idea of "doom porn" I also like to eat my oatmeal in peace on a lazy Sunday morning.

Yeah, KJU cannot "get away" with as much from The Donald as with BHO. When they transitioned power to Trump's team, they warned him that NK is their top threat. I think Trump's statement might confuse KJU and wonder how "crazy" Trump is compared to the other guy. That is why there was almost no news (none, nada) around the time Trump came into office: KJU is not sure how to deal with Trump.

I just don't like the "build up of testosterone," like two guys pushing each other and screaming before getting into a fight. There is a smarter, better way, of dealing with NK. But yeah, we can no longer, "politely ignore" KJU anymore either. I am not sure just what can be done.

The consensus with the South Korean government seems to be they willing to make the sacrifice, because it is their country, and Seoul most of all that will get # on. It also happens to be them pushing for confrontation more than anyone. The Pentagon just happens to like that it plays right into their plan.

North Korea is surrounded by provenABM systems from the South, to Japan in the East, as well as carrier strike groups and more ABM in Guam. The only nuke strike he can target without poisoning themselves is Guam or Japan, and there is more than enough ABM to counter the few missiles he actually has.

Its check mate for the false God-King dynasty of NK, and the clock has almost hit zero. This is a campaign we know will lead to success.

Do you have a source for the dropping of leaflets and usb drives?

Like flying planes over and dropping them?

Sure.

Theguardian.com (last year) - Flashdrives for freedom? 20,000 USBs to be smuggled into North Korea.

The headlines are all variations on the same wording, “one USB stick at a time.” I think I saw it on 60 Minutes first though. They fly along the border when wind conditions are good to blow the leaflets to the other
side. They have also attached usb drives to balloons to send over.

Businessinsider.com (2017) - north-koreans-have-smuggled-in-thousands-of-usb-sticks-2017-1.

The NKs that have made it out have been saying "getting information back inside is important" (basic jist).

USB drives have been smuggled into NK for a long time now. I saw a documentary years ago about it. It's mostly South Koreans helping to smuggle them in to show people in NK outside culture via movies and music videos etc. I think the confusion lies in that the wording made it sound like we were preparing the norks for war and to take cover etc.

Do you have one about planes dropping leaflets? If that's something that is taking place now, then I think there would be some obvious cause for concern. (Although I'm sure the planes would have been shot down by now...)

Send in a low level long range cruise missle, hit Kimmies vacation house, who going to know? It's not like they have outside news sources that want to be there. You think lil Kim would even want to say his country got hit but doesn't have the nuts to do anything? Slap him down now like you would a weak bully.

I agree 100%. A North Korea defector is sounding the alarm. We need to be PRO-active against Kim Jung.

""A senior North Korean defector has told NBC News that the country's "desperate" dictator is prepared to use nuclear weapons to strike the United States and its allies.

Thae Yong Ho is the most high profile North Korean defector in two decades, meaning he is able to give a rare insight into the secretive, authoritarian regime.""

Time to send in Dennis Rodman.

Or even better, a terminal cancer patient who can be "briefed" and made to look like Dennis Rodman. Someone who'd rather die saving a million people, than in a lonely hospice center.

Now that would be an excellent return on the billions of tax dollars we've invested in the CIA! (Far better than microwave ovens that spy on us.)

It's weird how nobody has reported this on ATS yet today. So I'll be the one!

Tillerson Fed up With Latest NK Provocation. (ballistic missile test launch again today 4/4/2017)

The rest of ATS is slacking!

NK is no push over like Iraq. NK has a million man army. My guess is as soon as NK gets wind of any attack incoming they'll over run the south before we can fully mobilize. After that it will be door to door combat in the south. If Kim's back is against the wall he will have nothing to loose. I wouldn't be surprised if he uses chemical weapons. He saw what happened to Saddam. If the body bags start to pile up I'm willing to bet they'll re instate the draft. I know I know America is unbeatable blah blah blah.

The war wouldn't be pretty, but with a few well-placed MOAB's we could knock out their CnC, the rest would be routine.

Honestly, the best way to win a war with NK is to let the outside news & entertainment smuggling continue. Let it sow further distrust in the government, those folks will rise up when they're good & ready to. We can't win a boots-on-ground war against an ideology that makes the leaders godlike & revered, the ME should have taught us that much about how might V ideology doesn't work too well.
Encouraging the population to second-guess what they've been spoonfed for generations is a better way to do it, even if it takes longer. The culture shocks will be certainly less severe in the aftermath.

A million men are nothing compared to an air force like ours, seriously they don't have the tanks, air force or navy to compete. An infantry force of a million men can be defeated rapidly by an air force the size of ours, Japan and SK.

Trump Administration: THE CLOCK HAS NOW RUN OUT!

"“I can tell you that it is now urgent because we feel that the clock is very very quickly running out,” a senior White House officials told reporters on Tuesday. “The clock has now run out, and all options are on the table for us.”

These comments came shortly before North Korea fired a projectile into the sea near the Korean peninsula on Tuesday — “likely” a test of their KN-11 sub-launched missile, a U.S. official said. The U.S. military’s Pacific Command later said they believed the missile to be a KN-15 medium-range ballistic missile.""

Time to send in the Cruise Missile with Mad Dog Mattis controlling the JOY-stick.
