CNN: Fake News Icons Battle Over Their Fake Trump Russia Dossie Report

We're definitely in the Twilight Zone when you get two fake news propagandists (Brian Stelter -CNN, Ben Smith -Buzzfeed) arguing over who is the most fake. I'm surprised they even did this interview. It's so bizarre.

Listening to these two all I can take away is that the entire thing is BS. Ben Smith only care about damaging Trump so it doesn't matter if it's true. Brian Stelter is trying to put lipstick opn a pig and distance CNN from Buzzfeed's version, but as Ben points out CNN did the same thing. This is why Rush Limbaugh calls the media "The Drive-By Media". They drive through, they do their damage and they're out.

It wasn't. The stuff about the hotel room and the lewd sex stuff is probably fake. The stuff about financial ties to Russia with less than desirable folk? There's evidence to suggest that is true.

Not defending either CNN or Buzzfeed though, they are both less that desirable themselves. But yeah, Trump still has skeletons in his closet that people are going to point out and find.

What does financing for buildings have to do with anything being claimed?
Are you aware of just how many American businesses are financed by Russian money?
Conflating this with the conspiracy claims being made is not evidence of anything.

Snopes is not a measure of anything anymore. I've seen so many Trump supporters say snopes is crap when it doesn't agree with them and that it's great when it does.

The fact is, that there are questions, that Trump refuses to answer about his business dealings, and that makes for a great conspiracy. It's own fault if people don't trust what comes out of his mouth, cause he refuses to prove it.

If he has any kind of business relationships with people in Russia, it's an issue, considering Russia is either the greatest friend the US has, or the worst enemy it was, depending on who you ask.

One thing I do agree with Ben Smith on is that what CNN did was worse. The put out an incorrect claim, that the intelligence services briefed Trump that Russia had compromising information on him, and also dressed the claim by talking about how their sources were all good and verified. They pushed a fake narrative onto the American people. Buzzfeed pushed an unverified document out and said it was unverified and in some cases known to be fake.

CNN will just have to wear their fake news badge until they can prove themselves reliable. They have much work to do to restore their credibility.

The loans were not made when Trump was President.
Do we know if the Russian state is bank rolling any of Trump's businesses? NO we don't. In Trump's financial disclosure forms all creditors are named.

As far as I understand the American tax system, without releasing them in full, there's no way to know how deep the international ties go with Trump. I could be wrong though. It's happened.

Look I want him to be a good POTUS, and I would prefer he doesn't get impeached over something stupid.

Saw them on CNN this morning. Watched for 30 seconds and turned the channel. Their expressions looked like 2 men on death row, just hours away from the electric chair.
