I see people are getting pretty stupid about russian influence over trump.

so i have to ask, are you frikkin stupid?

They are our only official ride to the ISS and space for our non military astronauts

We have treaties with them going back to 1824 and yet somehow we have a few rabid loonies pushing to start pushing around the great drunken bear.

The same people who are usually the rabid ANTIWAR protesters

Bad Move Comerade.

Peace and trade with Russia is vastly superior to sanctions and cooling of relations.
Now maybe if we stop putting missiles all over their border, theyll stop annexing strategic locations.

I guess most people dont know or dont remember hiding under their desks during nuclear bomb drills during the cold war.

Good times.

and then this happened

Russia really should not have invaded and annexed Crimea and interfered in Ukraine. US sanctions against Russia are fairly modest, the killers are the EU sanctions.

People have forgotten what happened in WWII. Hitler had empirical delusions, too. He Didn't care about diplomacy except where it furthered his own NWO agenda. Most people don't care the Russians snubbed US "interests" in Syria or remember the Russians snubbed US efforts in Vietnam, too.

The US elephant doesn't forget or forgive.

The USSR supported the Vietnamese effort to drive out the US foreign occupation of their homeland. Just like Russia supports the legitimate government in Syria to drive out the US backed terrorists today.

As I've said elsewhere, I have no problem renewing relations with Russia. However, the way Trump is going about it is all wrong. Russia is the one that illegally annexed Crimea. Russia is the one that broke ties with NATO. Russia is the one that provided the weapon that shot down MH17.

And yet Trump acts as if these things have no bearing on current tensions. Instead he acts like it's all the US' fault. That at best makes him look weak and at worst makes it look like he's in Russia's pocket.

Russia is the one that broke ties with NATO.

Interesting take; stay 'tied to NATO', or else?

Russia isn't encroaching along US borders with their military, are they? What makes it okay for NATO to threat posture along theirs?

Because it's our side doing it, which makes it ok.

Well Russia is the one that moved nuclear capable missiles into range of the Baltic states. They are also actively trying to destabilize the Baltic states. Then of course there's the large military exercises (much larger than any NATO has done) right on the border of Poland.

Face it, Russia has been taking an aggressive stance towards their neighbors. As a result our allies are asking for support. Can you blame them?

I'm also not saying "stay tied to NATO or else." What I'm saying is that NATO and Russia had a healthy working relationship for a longtime. Russia is the one that chose to end that relationship. They can't now turn around and complain about worsening relations when they are the ones that removed themselves from a partnership that fostered good relations for decades.

Remember 2008? Russia invaded Georgia and the Right wanted Obama to come down hard on Russia. He instead opted to reset relations with them. And for that effort he was branded weak and a traitor.

It's clear that Obama wants to work with Russia. We even have audio from 2012 where Obama tells Putin that he'll have more ability to make deals following the election.

What changed? Russia annexed Crimea, left the Partnership for Peace program, and started threatening US allies with nukes. Oh yeah, and Putin started blaming the West for all of Russia's woes because their economy is in the toilet and he can't let his citizens know that it's due to corruption and incompetence at the highest echelons of power.

Is the US perfect? No but in this case Russia has been more in the wrong than the US.

USA and Russia will be good friends once for all and we'll make business, no war.

These liberals can't process simple thoughts.

Tell us, does the United States have nuclear ICBM's etc launch capability located on the ground in the Eurasian super continent?

If so, what are they dong there, and how does Russia moving weapons int Baltic range as you pointed out anywhere near the reality of my perspective here?

Really ? US broke their promises not to expand on Russian backyard, the agreement was made after Berlin wall was teared down. US didn´t care a rats behind and lied to Russia very severely.

See those areas which NATO expanded after the agreement, empty promises. Also NATO promised Ukraine that they would get NATO membership, another border country to Russia.
Problem is NATO knows ( US = NATO ) Russia does not have capacity to match NATO forces, NATO has expanded closer to Russia and there are only few in west side of Russia which are not NATO countries. Ukraine should have stayed out of NATO business totally and been independent. So the culprit is really NATO and your beloved OBAMA.

Counsil of Foreign Relations

Basicly what you are saying is what MSN and other " puppet" media feed you with a shovel and when shoveled enough .. you believe it.
