I always felt a little strange about that whole staged scene with Hillary and Lavrov hitting the "reset" button.

It seems so obvious now, but the thing was really there in plain sight.

Wow, why are the pressing a big red button anyway...? That is, to avert "pressing the button"?

It's a mess of symbology, especially considering Russia doesn't have Office Depot, where the original gag comes from. Is "gag" the right word?

Anyway. I'm trying to do a bit of analysis on an old subject. Funny how it really sheds light on such a contrived (and important) event.

"Press the button" used to mean start WWIII. Especially the red button, also a 'panic button' for emergencies. Everybody knows that. The video of her doing that is even more telling. She staged it, he is unprepared. She gets the thing out hands it to him, and then pushes his hand down on the button.

Heres the original...

The Obama Administration doesn't care (soon to be didn't care... thank goodness) about actual results. It's all about feelings and symbolic gestures.

Remember when, after the administration snubbed the French and their anti-terrorism summit after the Charlie Hebdo massacre, John Kerry dug up James Taylor to sing, "You've got a friend"....?

Seriously. They did that. They thought THAT was an appropriate "response" to the bloody assault.

After enduring a firestorm of criticism for failing to send a high-ranking official to last Sunday’s massive anti-terror rally in France, Secretary of State John Kerry finally made it to Paris on Thursday — where he immediately cemented his reputation as an international laughing-stock.

In perhaps the most pathetic diplomatic apology ever enacted without actually saying “I’m sorry,” Kerry offered a “big hug” to a room full of survivors, family members and first responders involved in the Charlie Hebdo massacre.

And then he trotted out James Taylor, looking on proudly as the 70s-era guitarist serenading the shell-shocked survivors with a soulful rendition of “You’ve Got a Friend.”

Kerry brings Taylor because.... we're friends

The left is saying that trump is to cozy with the Russians but their candidate gave Russia a reset button.
A misspelled one at that.
