Possibly he was given the name when he joined Islam and began attending the only mosque in Alaska (1.6 Miles from his home).

Is it beyond possibility that this fella might be of Spanish and Arab ethnicity ?

White people can have darker skin without being from the Middle East.

You probably think all Portuguese people look like Arabs.

Yes, it's hard, I don't understand why you ask if it's intentional, how can my not seeing your point be intentional? I just don't understand what the point is.

I just don't understand what the point is.

Do you understand why Law Enforcement has a extraordinarily difficult time with 'citizens' who declare their sovereignty?
Do you understand why Separatists are an extremely dangerous lot ... under the right circumstances?

This guy we're talking about killed people. Let's not look at and become overwhelmed by the obvious emotional outcome. Let's focus on what he did: He killed. Now let's briefly recall the basic interrogatives (who, what, when, where, why and how).
Who: Random targets (This is the point of my original post in-thread BTW).
What: He Killed.
When: When it was most convenient??
Where: Where it was most convenient??
Why: Radical Islam??
How: Efficiently.

We know he killed. So we can strike the what, even though understanding what is generally what we're most concerned with, in this case it's just blatantly obvious unless one of his intended victims was being killed for a reason (and we'll never know that). That would change the definition from He Killed : to : He Assassinated and then Randomly Killed.

So 'the who' was my point. He killed random Americans. 'Who' does that? The answer, very simply, is: The Enemy.

I don't care if 0bama chose to NOT admit that America is at war with Islam. It's plainly obvious to me that we ARE at war with Islam and have been ever since we sided with Israel after WWII.

Sooner or later someone will re-visit an age old truth about warfare: You've got to kill people, and when you've killed enough, they'll stop fighting. Q: What do you want to do before you launch full-scale operations? A: Make sure you neutralize sympathizers and infiltrators behind your lines.

Xuen you always come up with doozies, good to see you here.

I wonder if the killer had a change of mind about his connections to Islam? Perhaps once in you have to follow orders or risk having all your loved ones done in or worse?
(Did you dig up anything about his connections to child porn? The stories about the fbi raiding his 3 computers but not getting substantial evidence to support his arrest?) Perhaps part of the reason why he wanted out of his connections? Perhaps child trafficking and kiddy porn were not why he signed up in the first place?

Maybe he knew that claiming alphabet soup agencies mind controlling him would buy him a nice padded room where he could get out of his diabolical connections to terror groups?

Something is so off about this whole story and for sure anyone with an open mind and alert senses could tell you this was domestic terror brought on by affiliations of Islamic fundamentalist terror networks.

That's a seriously draconian thought process you have going on there, WE ARE A COUNTRY BASED ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS! We were not founded as a Christian nation, we have lost sight of that sadly. The Germans thought that putting all the Jews in camps sounded like a good idea at the time as well, look how that ended. Not denying the existence of radical Islam, radicals exist in all religions after all, but to immediately judge someone on their personal beliefs is narrow minded to the extreme.

He is the enemy but don't get Islam confused with a sociopaths murderous spree. Stick to your facts as that seems most genuine. In doing that we have only conjecture and a certain wish to have definitive answers as to the "Why"

Service by Muslims in the United States military dates back to the American Revolutionary War where records indicate that at least a few Muslims fought on the rebel side.[1]

Muslims have fought in all major US wars including the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War.[1] More recently they have served in Gulf War, Iraq War, and the War in Afghanistan.

A little fuel for your fire. Also you are not alone in the knowledge of Christian acceptance and tolerance, it is getting harder and harder to prove that with all of the "keep em separated" plots of divisiveness happening at every turn, but yes America was always welcoming to Immigrants, from ALL countries, from ALL religions. Any true American knows this to be true. Only the corrupt usurpers of our Constitution will tell you otherwise.

While I quietly defer to your wisdom, event - after event - after event, in apparently increased frequency, makes me a little more vocal at times.

Sometimes it seems like bullets in the real world are tolerated better than words in the virtual.

Cheers!!

Yep, saw the same thing.

Here is a link showing screenshots of his emails in 2007, and how the researchers linked his email to the name ‘Aashiq Hammad’. Back then he was downloading jihadist music and videos.

Yet, it is also true that the United States and Europe have been at war against Muslim states since the 7th century when Mohammed united all Muslims and told them to spread Islam by the sword and they conquered a great part of Europe by the sword. Then there is the fact that the Middle East was a land inhabited by many people who were not all Arabs such as the Assyrians, and Muslims centuries ago forced these people to convert, or became second rate citizens in Muslim nations who had to pay heavy taxes for not being Muslim. These forced conversions and destruction of anything that is not Muslim is still happening all over the Middle East, and it's spilling into Europe.

The United States fought against Islamic pirate states in North Africa in The First Barbary War in 1801-1805 and the second Barbary War in 1815-1816. These were the first great wars the United States had to fight against other nations.

In fact in 1786 Thomas Jefferson and John Adams went to London to try to negotiate with Tripoli's ambassador Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja. Jefferson asked the ambassador why American ships were being attacked by the Muslim North African states when the United States had done them no harm. To this Tripoli's ambassador responded:

...
It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy's ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once.xv

That is exactly what Muslim extremists believe to this day.

This is not to say that every Muslim is a bad person, there are moderate Muslims that do not want to follow the radical ways of old that Mohammed followed. But, you cannot argue that we should allow every Muslim person into the country without being vetted when radicalism in Islam is still well and alive. Look at the jihad done in Sudan which murdered 2 million Christians from the 1980s-2010, and the second Jihad of Sudan murdered over 300,000 non Arab Muslims and Christians.

If you think Muslim extremism is not happening in Europe you should search for the attacks in New Year's eve on several German cities in 2016, and the several attacks that have occurred since then.

I will be starting a thread showing how in the U.S. there are already programs in Universities in which Muslim scholars are trying to see how to implement Sharia law in the U.S. This cannot happen in this nation, and we cannot allow any alien whether Muslim or any others into the U.S. without being properly vetted.
