Hell, the Philippines comes in at #4, China at #5, and Korea at #6, for country of origin for most illegal immigrants. Those people have to cross a f***ing ocean. What good do you think a wall is going to do?

Well imagine that!

Come on now people, it's not like we did not see that one coming?

Truth is no wall of the sorts Trump envisages will even be constructed down to the fact that it's a nonsensical belligerent notion that simple would not do what it says on the tin.

Shhhh!!! Logic doesn't belong in an illegal immigrant debate.

I agreed, as far as I've read, he has. But what's the point of they can walk back in?

And you think this magical wall is suddenly going to stop reentries?

It would go a long way to help, if done right. Yes I really do. At least I would like to see a real attempt at it. I can't see any reason in the universe why we wouldn't build it.

Getting the illegals out will save more than enough to pay for the wall.

Uh huh... Modes of Entry for the Unauthorized Migrant Population

That article was written in 2006 too. So no chance of you saying that it has Obama taint on it.

The wall is just a red herring.

Enough people believed it now didn't they?

That and every other lie.
Not really. I don't know anyone who did at least, and I live in Trumpland.

But I suppose after reading headlines today that Trump is serious about it, so... whatever.

When border crossers account for only half the problem, I find it hard to agree with a MASSIVE tax hike to pay for a glorified monument to isolationism (because lord knows it wouldn't stop anyone wanting to cross the border).

But tunnels, ladders and ropes somewhat circumvent the defensive nature of the wall throughout history. How do you imagine this one being any different?

And even if it did somewhat retard the half that come through Mexico, don't you imagine they will simply find another point of access in to the US?

If you build it they will still come.

He's using the 2006 congressional approval to get started on 700 miles.
Whether he gets Mexico to pay for the wall is not known yet.

Please tell me that the order in which finances are applied are not the basis for this thread...if so it means that anti-Trump people are waiting for every fake news story there is in order to bash Trump. Surely that is not the case.

You have to try. Even though banks sometimes get robbed, they still have security, cameras, plexiglass and vaults. Still not foollproof but if they left the money in the street it would certainly disappear.
The wall also means jobs, too, so win-win.

It won't be any different - people will still breach the wall. The question is will a wall significantly reduce the numbers. The argument that a wall is possible to breach, and therefore useless, is nonsense.

There's many problems that need addressing. But this is HUGE!!
Without the wall, well, don't even try. I'm not a defeatist,. I want to see the wall. Its worth it.

If we have 5 BILLION for a website I think we can manage funds for national security.

Anyone who pays attention to ANY sort of politics should know that when a politician says we should do something that hurts with promises of reprieve down the line is pulling your leg. That is politics speak 101.

The wal has just two objectives: slowing the intruders and making them visible to members of the border patrol. It's not going to be just a wall silly, the wall will consist of CCTV, motion detection systems, BORDER AGENTS and a myriad of other security-related systems.

Perhaps you should research Israel's wall if you want an example of how effective a well planned wall can be.

I don't think a wall is really logistically possible. The sheer cost and time alone. Now maybe hire more agents and more drones, a few more satellites etc. Not really sure though.

Well-planned is what I stressed from the start of this thread. Until now it has mostly been ignored.ty
