Mike Rowe: Ford Investment in Michigan ‘A Big, Fat Victory’ for American Manufacturing

Mike Rowe seems like such a good guy, and is a working Americans-American. He gives a thumbs up to Ford.

Mike Rowe praised Ford for cancelling the Ford plant in Mexico and had nothing but good things to say about the $700,000,000 that Ford plans to invest in Mich.

Former Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe praised Ford Motor Company’s decision to cancel its plans to build a $1.6 billion auto manufacturing plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

“I’d like to take a moment to congratulate Ford, its current employees, its future employees, the great state of Michigan, and of course, The United States of America,” Rowe wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday.

He also wants people to ignore the people who are partisan and don't understand optimism. He also added that this is great news that should be celebrated.

Do me a favor — ignore these people,” he wrote. “They don’t know how to feel good about anything other than feeling bad. They don’t understand the value of justifiable optimism — or it’s importance.”

“Honestly, I don’t care what your politics are, or your opinion of NAFTA, The UAW, The New F-150, rich people, poor people, The Global Economy, or The President-Elect — this is good news, and sensible people should celebrate it,” Rowe wrote. “The company who invented mass production is once again betting on the future of America! What’s the worst part about that?”

He made some good points. Don't see why people wouldn't be happy for this anyway unless they are that brainwashed of partisan hacks. Bring back the jobs in Detroit. Help Flint too. Maybe that can even help to kick out the scum forever that caused the water problems.

While true that ford may be I fact creating 700 jobs by expanding in Michigan no one is talking about the 10,000 employees being laid off by Macy's.

We're in the hole 9,300 employees already.

Are they moving their jobs to mexico? Did Macys realize that when their buyers bought clothing that was manufactured in third world countries that meant that the consumers here were loosing their jobs?

Large retail outfits have enjoyed taking super cheap products from around the world and selling them for huge profits to the people who are slowly growing poorer and angrier.
