Thanks, and thank you for your participation!

Too bad they can't make "average Joe" Time Magazine's "Person of the Year", or Jane, but I guess it doesn't really work that way..

The unsung hero is the person who's going the extra mile, right now as we speak, in apparent obscurity.

Here's to you, Joe!

Let the sun shine on you wherever you are and may God whisper or lightly touch your heart to let you know that it's all good and that everything's going to be OK.

It's the same "good news" in a time of darkness, the same light, even a variation on the same ancient story where yet again it was the stone that was rejected by the builders (the individual) that became the keystone.

All the very best!

Ankh

No. Tell me.

Mob rules.

You don't believe in the power of individual Civil Liberty and human freedom, power and potential?

Are you a collectivist?

It is in fact not the age of the individual.

But it is the age of emotion.

That, to many, feels it might feel like it means "the individual".

But for many individuals it is not.

If you want to be kind to everyone: Get that. K?

Yes, you are all about to have your emotional twinkies honked. But get real on the fact that not everyone has such well developed twinkies.

Ya bunch of twinkies.

Over and out.

Jesus seemed to describe it as something that on the one hand will restore people with that emotional body (I know what you're talking about), which he likened to becoming like a little child in that playful enthusiasm and exuberance and trust and curiosity, or, on the other, will so offend people that they would rather lose their own sense of humor than to pop open or flower or be revivified, such that there would be great joy and celebration, or terrible bitterness and remorse.

If I were a doorman, I'd reopen that door a few times, but at some point, the enthusiasts will be exhausted leaving nothing but a scowling-faced mob of haters, and you can't let them in or it would spoil the celebration.

And that's the problem, but what's to be done when the invitation has gone out and gone out again and the door reopened a few times to check for those who really seek and who want the good but who might have been so victimized by an evil and wicked system that they'd lost all hope.

Pleasant surprises for the twinkies, and even twinkies for the twinkieless who want and who have the courage to ask with even the smallest amount of faith.

So be careful, because some of those twinkies might see the kingdom of heaven before you do.

That was a very clear and cogent.

Don't forget your responsibility towards those that are incapable entering. Or they will remind you.

You only need short-memory to appreciate that.

Much respect. Glad I friended you. Remember to only use your powers for Good.

See you.

...but that's utterly unique as a unique spiritual experience for each and every person don't you think?

Not in the slightest.

We're not just meat in some sort of story-grinder in your view I hope..

Yes...

...nor that emotional body one that's distributed in the collective consciousness, making of true and authentic personal individuality something of an illusion?

...and no.

How are you reading Moby Dick and not getting this?

I just didn't want to come across as argumentative or combative. Your answers are sometimes intentionally vague and cryptic as if you are in possession of superior knowledge which you refuse to dole out unless I demonstrate my worthiness to receive it.

What am I not seeing? I'm curious.

Please offer more info and context. Thank you.

Please share with us your very best metaphysical or philosophical or psychological wisdom. I'm all ears.

Geez,

I'm sorry.

Fact is? I have absolutely no belief at all in the power of the individual to move what your OP suggests is moving or needs to be moved.

I believe that individuals are capable of innovation, but the benefits of innovation are lately slow to enter the marketplace (although I expect that to change quickly over the next decade or two).

You're talking about some sort of "Century of the Human Being" and the "Revelation of the Sons of God".

What the hell does that mean?

I expect that we have entered in to a time that is ruled by emotion, and "emotional intelligence", because we seem to be scheduled for such an excursion.

But I can tell you, if it were meant to happen at a scheduled time that excludes any part of us, even those that seem so ill-prepared that they should be left behind, then the time is not now.

We only move as fast as the slowest ships in our fleet.

Them's the rules.

Why is it that self-actualization for humanity en masse is only achieved after a century of selfishness developed the technology to make it possible?

That may be one of those unanswerable questions Red. It may be enough just to be able to ask it at all.

Really, I was kinda picturing your arms and head, kinda like the old Kilroy was here, poking up out of some green and smoldering mire. And oh yea, the fog.

Thanks for op. Not sure I totally grasped all of it. When I was a kid, I liked the new system Jesus described. Where in every human heart, do no harm ruled. Then there would be no wars, no mental illness ( behind most aggressive behavior), no need for overburdened laws, no poverty, no orphans....

Happy New Year.

And to you. It doesn't take a whole ton of people to change or move the world while holding the line against a faulty one where the problem of evil arises.

You say as a kid, and by chance were you orphaned (I'm noting 4 dots instead of the usual 3)?

That same hope is still in you, I can tell.

Jesus said that that hope wasn't unfounded, and that you would be blessed, and you have been with three children and you're probably a great mom.

What I'm talking about really is that fundamental goodness and the desire for the good, and it's all over the place even though you don't hear about it on the news because it's not bloody or sensational.

You've got it. It doesn't need to be complicated.

In fact, when the mundane becomes sacred, then you've REALLY got it.

Please don't give up on that hope for goodness in the human heart now that you're grown up.

No, Terry, you have always been one-up on me. I admit it.

I'm looking forward to more in the new year.

It's the friction that counts.

Wow. This post and most of the snowflake response mentality literally set back our future by 500 years.
While you're building a new century of humanism, who is working and paying the bills? Your parents will die soon enough, and your comfy basement will no longer be available.
While you're getting in touch with your inner emotions and making your 3 foot bubble the best padded room available, who is watching the powers that be? Who will have the nerve to do the dirty # that needs to be done to make sure your precious ass gets food tomorrow.
Gen X will be the last generation before America's dismantling.
There is no enlightenment when there is nothing left but socialism. Your enlightenment will be slavery. And history will repeat itself again.
