so, America which built itself on the doctrine of manifest destiny, waging a war of genocide and stealing other people`s land is telling Israel that it`s bad and illegal to expand your country by stealing other people`s land?

No they abstained from voting.

So on reality, they said nothing.

If Obama is not a Muslim why is he is so willing to make a deal with Iran but tells Israel to go uck itself?

The deal with Iran was a smart move , the US has recently announced a $38 billion military aid package for Israel , hardly telling them to do anything to themselves really.

BUT Trump accepting a call from Taiwan is bad and breaks years of the one china policy agreement.

Mixing apples with pears.

LOL Please tell me that's not the best explanation you can come up with. But I'll play along.

Doesn't this mean that every other member of that church (which is the largest church affiliated with the United Church of Christ) was going for the same reasons? If not, then how do you know that's why Pres Obama did? And if yes, it sounds like you're admitting that American churches preach bigotry. That's an interesting admission.

ETA: Just for the record, the United Church of Christ has roughly 1 million American members and more than 5,000 separate congregations (according to their wikipedia page). Jeremiah Wright was a preacher for 36 years at their largest affiliated church. If he was routinely hateful and divisive, then why was he allowed to represent the United Church of Christ for so long? Should we start looking into their other branches to scrutinize their rhetoric or does it classify as freedom of religion?

(note: I don't particularly care one way or another what they teach. But I'm curious to see where your rationalizations take us.)

The numbers you shared could carry some political weight, if Democrats held a majority in the U.S. House, Senate, Governorships, Mayors, Park Districts, Corporations, Ma-Pa businesses, etc..

Accepting for the moment that this continuing delusion that he's Muslim might actually have a basis in fact... (it doesn't, but let's pretend.)

Why does it matter?

Muslim? Jew? Catholic? Buddhist? Pagan? Hindu? Animist? None of the above? All of the above on alternating full moons?

Why does it matter so much to some of you?

This is just about the most idiotic clap trap I've ever heard about Obama in the eight years he's been in office. In case y'all missed it, he was a member in good standing of a rather Separatist Christian Church run by some idiot named Wright...not exactly Muslim. Hello?

...And, as has been said in innumerable posts in many threads since last months elections, the national totals mean absolutely

NOTHING.

It's the totals within each state that matter. Only that, and nothing more.

Which, of course, they don't. US House? Nope. US Senate? Nope. Governorships? Nope (33/50). State Legislatures? Nope (32/50-17 of which are veto proof.)

So it's fairly obvious that this supposed Democratic popularity is largely a figment of some peoples imaginations.

Who cares if Obama is a Muslim. It is shallow and silly to think that because of this he is anti-Israel.

Maybe the US is waking up to the fact that Israeli settlements are an affront, and their continued expansion is a real barrier to peace.

I am a supporter of Israel. They are the only democracy in a sea of intolerance and belligerence, and have a right to exist. However, Israel needs to take a clear step towards gaining the moral high ground and that is not going to happen if they have policies that are antagonistic and plain wrong.

I think it matters. The reason it matters is because his administrations has always denied it, the media has always labeled anyone who insinuated he's muslim as a crazy person -- but the truth is, he's a Muslim.

So if it doesn't matter, why does HE think it does so much so, to lie to the entire country about it?

More over, how stupid are we, that we don't immediately recognize his Muslim name and heritage.

Could it be, that the extremist Muslims [i.e. political Muslims] are enemies of the united states.... right -- because they are, and that would be a money reason to lie about it.

and yet trump calls himself a christian and considering his past experience?????

blessed are the peacemakers...
and when it comes to the middle east, and the palestian nation, trump doesn't show many signs that he will be a peacemaker.

I didn't know this was a thread about Trump? But either way, he isn't the president yet, so to comment on his foreign policy is a bit pre-mature.

Do you guys even think this stuff through?

1. Arabic names aren't limited to any specific religion. What language and names do you think Arab Christians and Arab atheists use? Arab Christians even call God "Allah" since that's how you say "God" in Arabic.

2. The "heritage" argument is equally wrong. Think about it for a second: if an American atheist's parents and grandparents were Christians, does that mean the atheist is also secretly a Christian?

3. Think about how many atheists have Judeo-Christian names like Michael, David, John, Adam, Paul, Peter, etc. The name Christopher literally comes from the phrase "Christ bearer". LOL And the female equivalents have the same origins (like Christina, Paula, Joan/Joana, Mary/Marie/Maria, Sarah, etc). Going by your own logic, all of those people must be Christians or Jews simply because of the origins of their names.

Why premature?
Trump supporters make ridiculous claims about
achievements he hasn't completed yet.
We already know that Carrier export of jobs was a total wash...

The thread title makes no sense.

If it is true, which it isn't, then it was a shot against the State of Israel, and not the Jewish religion.

Last I checked Israel is not a Theocracy. It has numerous flaws but that isn't one of them.

Quite a ridiculous statement. Like claiming all Catholics are Roman, all Protestants are English, All Muslims are Arabs, all Buddhists are Chinese, I could go on.

Donald Trump delivers scathing statement against Atheists over actions in South China Sea.

Barack Obama enacts sanctions on Russian Orthodox people over actions in Syria.

Could have a lot of fun with it actually.

You fail to understand that they're not trying to be logical.
They usually make these threads on sites that cater to their
"Obama is the antichrist muslim that will set up death camps and take my guns."
They're the same ones that were over on the Carl Paladino started by Reldra thread
defending his comments about Michelle Obama.

The echo chamber on those sites embolden them to make those threads
here thinking that they have enough of their choir to echo it here as well
without push back. Then when you start poking back at them using their own tactics
they start get jittery and start in with calling people libtards or snowflakes.

..what this thread needs
before people go hurt eachother because of misunderstanding their own concepts,
is a definition of 'islam' and 'judaism'

since they share the same root - ancient egypt

That's an interesting take. Definitely thought provoking.

It would be like the Chinese media saying the American vs Mexican hostilities over immigration and trade actually stem from the centuries long feud between Catholics and Protestants. I could see non-Christian nations promoting that angle if they tried to rationalize future "peacekeeping" missions here. Imagine the UN enforcing No Fly zones over Hispanic-majority areas in the US to protect the "oppressed" Catholics and demilitarized zones on our borders.

People living here would know that it has nothing to do with that old religious feud. But that's how our media, commentators, and politicians paint the stories in other countries.

My goal since I stopped lurking and became a member on this site was to refute stuff like that. So I usually add a lot of details in my posts because I want readers & lurkers to see the flaws in that logic. In short, I respond to the nutjob conspiracies more for the readers than for the person I'm refuting.
