I'm white and I recognize that we are the world's oppressors. We haven't actively done anything ourselves to intentionally oppress (besides the bigoted, racist white population)... but we have inherited a system from those that did that benefits us.
Genocide is a little extreme, but I can see the point he's making

A hint at why this douche says what he does:
BA, Government and Economics, St. Lawrence University, 2001
BA, Honors/MA Social and Political Sciences, Cambridge University, 2003
MA, Political Science, University of California at Berkeley, 2004
PhD, Political Science, University of California at Berkeley, 2010
A lack of education above the Bachelors degree...
"On Christmas Eve, I sent a satirical tweet about an imaginary concept, 'white genocide,'" he said in an e-mail. 'For those who haven't bothered to do their research, 'white genocide' is an idea invented by white supremacists and used to denounce everything from interracial relationships to multicultural policies (and most recently, against a tweet by State Farm Insurance). It is a figment of the racist imagination, it should be mocked, and I'm glad to have mocked it."
Many readers and social media followers didn't get the humor, though - and his employer didn't either.
On Sunday night, Drexel issued an official statement saying: "While the University recognizes the right of its faculty to freely express their thoughts and opinions in public debate, Professor Ciccariello-Maher's comments are utterly reprehensible, deeply disturbing, and do not in any way reflect the values of the University."
The university also said it "contacted Ciccariello-Maher today to arrange a meeting to discuss this matter in detail."
Ciccariello-Maher also won his share of support on social media.

You are brainwashed. FFS, 'genocide is a LITTLE extreme'? Seek help.
The US would be a better place if every race/ethnicity had the same numbers/ was equal. I dont think he actually advocates genocide, I just think he advocates the results

Professor (and I use the term loosely) says "But it was all satire!" and is now worried about the University's reaction.

In the meantime, I have a college visit to cancel...

foolish people still think it`s about skin color, it`s about money always has been, the rich (both white and black) don`t care about the poor no matter color the poor person is.
explain to me how poor white people living in poverty are oppressing rich black people like Obama and colin powell?
white people don`t oppress black people. rich people oppress poor people.
You're white, and you're retarded. White people may have taken the world by storm, and they did it despite being the world's minority in terms of number. Still, you are neglecting to consider several points. First and foremost, not all countries define race by skin color. In fact, most don't. Therefore, it is an American perspective that "white people are the world's oppressors." Then you have to recognize that Africa, the Middle East, and Asia are full of their own homegrown oppressors. Certainly, black people oppress more people in Africa than do whites. Orientals more so in Asia. Basically, people in general are the oppressors of the world, not just a specific race or ethnic group.
