Actually Israel did exist before the romans came around. as well as judea.

Also Israelis/jews lived there when it was a un official area under the ottomans as well.

The UN is also hypocritical since they refuse to acknowledge the original state of israel the arabs try to destroy.

the league of nations creators would hang these traitors to their decisions.

It took a while, but the full text is now up at the UN Security Council web site:
The full text of resolution 2334 (2016)

“Guided by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, and reaffirming, inter alia, the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by force,

“Reaffirming the obligation of Israel, the occupying Power, to abide scrupulously by its legal obligations and responsibilities under the Fourth Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, of 12 August 1949, and recalling the advisory opinion rendered on 9 July 2004 by the International Court of Justice,

“Condemning all measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, including, inter alia, the construction and expansion of settlements, transfer of Israeli settlers, confiscation of land, demolition of homes and displacement of Palestinian civilians, in violation of international humanitarian law and relevant resolutions,

“Expressing grave concern that continuing Israeli settlement activities are dangerously imperilling the viability of the two-State solution based on the 1967 lines,

Ever since the establishment of the United Nations, and the signing of the Fourth Geneva Convention, the concept of territory gain as spoils of war has been rejected by all civilized nations.

Unfortunately, the Ottoman Empire allied with Germany during WWI. Since Germany lost that war, England and France redrew the map of Ottoman territory outside of Turkey, as victors of war.

The League of Nations had a two state plan. England had a two state plan. The UN, after forming, had a two state plan. The U.S. has had a two state plan. The State of Israel has held to a two state solution.

Only the U.S. Republican Party platform and the current leadership of Israel represented by Israel's ambassador to UN, seem to reject a two state solution.

DANNY DANON (Israel) described today as a bad day for his country and the peak of hypocrisy. The Council had wasted time to condemn Israel for building homes in the Jewish people’s historic homeland.
...
Today it had voted to condemn the State of Israel and to condemn the Jewish people for building homes in the Land of Israel. Asking every voting member who had given them the right to issue such a decree, denying “our eternal rights in Jerusalem”, he expressed full confidence in the justice of Israel’s cause and the righteousness of its path. “We will continue to be a democratic State based on the rule of law and full civil and human rights for all our citizens,” he emphasized. “And we will continue to be a Jewish State proudly reclaiming the land of our forefathers.”

This Danny Danon character does not recognize Palestine at all. He only sees Palestine as land being reclaimed. He is a very radical dude, just as the Republican National Committee platform is a direct departure from historic two state solution. Neither he nor they are in favor of peace, only continued expansion of Israel until there is no Palestine.

A toast to President Obama and to Ambassador Samantha Power
A once in my lifetime symbolic victory of Civilized Law over obstinate fanaticism. However short it may be!

Obama hates Jews Israelis and Netanyahu especially. The settlements today add up to a tiny percentage of what Mizrahi and Sephardic Israelis got stolen from them in land and wealth by the Arabs

Israel deserves none of that land. In fact they should be forced to move then be made to pay reparations to the Palestinians.

All who deny Jerusalem has throughout history been the capital of Israel.

That's because it hasn't been. Jerusalem was already an old city before the Hebrews captured it.

Give me a Holy War and let me be glad when islam is also gone.

I'm sure you are like all the others cry for war but not willing to fight in it.

I cant wait till electric cars are the rule and islamic oil money dries up...... and muzzies starve by the millions.

They know the oil won't last forever so that is why they are buying up technological firms.

Regardless of your views on the Israel-Palestine conflict, you cannot deny that Obama has shown some real spine with this move.

And just because someobody supports the resolution, does not mean they are anti-Semitic. Criticism of a nation and their policies does not mean you hate people of a particular faith. Many people often condemn Saudi Arabia for their lack of women's rights and they are not accused of Islamophobia for doing so. Many people condemn the USA for their foreign policies and they are not accused of being anti-Christian. So it goes that those who condemn Israel for their mistreatment of Palestinians are not necessarily anti-Jewish.

Trump will fix that crap, and the UN (or so he says).
Only other antiSemites care what a classically antiSemitic organization has to say!
Israel could care less.
There is no 'two states' ever going to happen.
It must be 'earned'.

This was simply another move by Obama against Trump.

There is only one U.S. President at a time.

Here's a funny little side note:
Russia voted yes on the resolution. The U.S. abstained. Somehow the U.S. is the villain? Weird!

So who will Trump pick as his new BFF? Putin or Netanyahu?

Open your eyes people.

AMERICA FIRST! Isn't that the mantra for the new Nationalism?
How is not following the dictates of a foreign government a betrayal of U.S. sovereignty?

Wake up! The U.S. is not the vassal of Israel. The U.S. President is not a colonial governor for Israeli Empire. Perhaps Trump will choose to declare the U.S. as Israeli slave state. But it hasn't happened yet.

Maybe, just maybe, Israeli elections may replace Netanyahu and the no peace until no Palestine government in Israel.

Oh so we coveniently forget that the PLO itself has said that this was all a play to get land that was never theirs back(the original israeli mandate) The Settlements Israel did try to give that land back as well but it was refused due to the "refugees from egypt, and transjordan being there. Its bad when your home country rejects you isnt it?

And when the greatest Palestinian ever says There was no actual palestinian people then majically they became palestinians over night. Somethings wrong isnt it? Yasser arafatt in a hot mike moment was caught saying this to a interviewer before. Its in his memoirs/autobiography as well.

But seeing as how the UN is made up of dictators and anti western forces these days they over look this.

There is a bigger problem than an unco-operative media.

Congress itself.

Senators that sign a pledge for Israel, should be deported to Israel. I have always admired Cynthia McKinney for telling the truth. Thanks khnum.

looks like the world is in for another wave of INTAFADA Bombings/Shootings/Terrorism....
but not for a 2 state resolution...NO

the Palestine populace wants the Title to the whole landscape of Palestine/Judea/Levant/Samaria/ etc.
to the exclusion of the Jewish State
the Jewish State lays claim to the 922BC era of Israel-and-Judah... there is no way that such a claim makes sense, but the modern Israeli's have more than 200 nukes, and that IS a big stick in the midst of Jihadi-stan

The US traditionally shelters their crazy puppy dog Israel from their illegal acts by protecting them in the UN.

Here Obama has done something right for a change. Amazing.

Too Little too late.

In another week Trump will bulldoze sanity under the rubble as he learns to enjoy being part of the swamp he once promised to drain.

Israel claims to be the only true democracy in the Middle East yet Palestinians who were born there can't hold citizenship, can't vote & risk arbitrary arrest & often extrajudicial execution by gunhappy soldiers who face no real consequences. That is not true democracy.

Israel practices an apartheid system which short of gas ovens emulates much of what the Nazis did to the Jews. Seems Israel at least benefited something from Hitler... How to be brutal dictators. How amazing the choice of mentors the Israeli state chose to emulate.

All generations(except the two current ones ) were not natives of that land. they were refugees of the war between israel and the surrounding countries.

Also If you had to take care of a countrys people other than your own why woudnt you be short with them? Those people have homes in Egypt and trans jordan, but their home countries refuse them entry. why?
Ill tell you. Because they tried to overthrow their own governments.

"palestinians" for the most part are not part of israels population. they are like prisoners and as such they do not have any rights to vote. Would we allow refugees to vote in our elections or laws? No.

Dont fall for their propaganda on being innocent and wanting peace. Their parents were responsible for their exile to where they are now.

Is israel blameless? no. Because they did not demand the countries around them take the land and refugees back per the last wars agreement brokered by the UN.

Yeah, the BS redefining of WAR.

So ya gotta give all the stuff back?

What's next? Can't kill your attackers?

Ever since the establishment of the United Nations, and the signing of the Fourth Geneva Convention, the concept of territory gain as spoils of war has been rejected by all civilized nations.

See, this is for nations going for a land grab, not for getting their asses kicked.

Also depends if the war is over, doesn't it?

Or is the UN trying to make this life a video game with save points?

Yeah, the BS redefining of WAR.

Maybe it seems BS to some, but then, some people carry Military ID cards that specify certain Geneva Convention protections.

So ya gotta give all the stuff back?

It applies during conflict, and during post-conflict administration by occupying power.

Convention (IV) relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. Geneva, 12 August 1949.
ARTICLE 49
... "The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies."
