Changes made to the forums past few days?

When I come here, or go to any page or forum, the background pops in like a full photograph, then 5 seconds later the forum/posts pop in. The background photos were always kinda grey and didn't stand out from the grey forum post section. Now they are bright and kind of distracting, and that slow loading and pop in...
