Insurance as a concept is redistribution of wealth, all healthy people pay for ones cancer treatment. Karl Marx stated Capitalism will evolve into Socialism. Insurance and Unions are all part of Socialism that you cannot live without.

Please explain how I'm using "tax dollars" to pay for my healthcare? I recently had my index finger get almost cut off with a machete. Removing bone fragments and 23 stitches cost me 2,600 bucks. I know how much that bill would have been if insurance was paying and it pisses me off!

I paid that bill. I. Paid. That. Bill.... Where did any "tax dollars" come into play???

With our new system, I still pay for my ER visit, but I pay a tax because I can't afford insurance that will send me to the ER for my f#ing EMERGENCY...

And you think Trump is going to change the corporate insurance structure to favor the self employed? Remember, Trump is a businessman; you are very likely to wind up paying more with the corporate medicine he favors, not to mention the paybacks to the insurance companies that helped fund his run for the white house.

theintercept.com...

Remember that Obama care was Republican Romney's idea. Sure the name will change but the structure will continue; and the Trump loyalist will claim the Trump saved us. LOL The thing to keep in mind about an Oligarchy; Most people pay but the minority profits.

Merry Christmas!

Where did I say I thought Trump was going to change it???

I want it changed and fixed. I don't give a flying snip who fixes it, it needs fixed and now!

(Not you personally) but partisan politics needs to stop. I'm tired of excuses, it's time for action!

Obamacare should be updated or “fixed” whatever. NOT the concept of universal FREE or bearable affordable health care for the indigent and middle class and the many other goods things in Obamacare should be kept.

In fact it could have been better if the GOP would have participated positively in the first place.

And the concerns of the poster Christosterone should be addressed

To go back to the barbaric state of health care in the US before Obamacare is demonic and pure evil

Yeah, I remember when "Romneycare" was a thing and it being rejected. Do you?

Small hint, it was rejected!

Do you remember when us true Conservatives threw a fit about Gorge W bailing out the banks? Remember when we turned our backs to the GOP???

Folks hated us for going against our party, the TEA party started and got hijacked. Us middle of the road conservatives just want what's lawful. Laws enforced and the ability to make a buck not infringed unnecessarily...

I've thought for a while now that true universal socialized medicine will only be achieved when conservatives rebrand it as "Freedom Healthcare" (or something like that) and remove all references to socialism. Conservatives have to think it's their idea. Just look at what Romney did. The only reason American medicine is privatized is politics and lobbies.

Heck, maybe Trump will be the one to socialize medicine in a way that conservatives think is their idea. Liberals need to get together and pretend to hate this idea when it comes up so conservatives will be sure to pass it. It's the only way.

Yeah, you'd think that nationwide access to healthcare would be seen as a national security issue. After all, high quality healthcare is literally the easiest way to save American lives. Even Eisenhower had to promote the interstate system as a national security issue in order to get fiscal conservatives to go along with it. It was literally called the "National System of Interstate and Defense Highways" lol.

Trump will make it all very very better. Believe me really it will be amazing, lots of people tell me very very amazing, 5 million uninfringing amazing people believe me, that's what people tell me!

If Donald Trump gets what he wants done:

...then we will need Obamacare until the sick people are healed. Donald Trump knows about the medical research that has many years been in waiting that in many cases has been PROVEN to work and be safe already! If he can achieve this, then Obamacare will not be needed nearly as much.

Romneycare wasn't rejected. It's provisions were passed into law in Massachusetts in 2006 when Romney was still Governor of Massachusetts.

I didn't know that about the interstate system. Hilarious.

But yeah, that's pretty much how it would have to happen.

Here's a link to the Federal Highway Administration's page about it, which includes this bit:

Under the leadership of President Eisenhower, the question of how to fund the Interstate System was resolved with enactment of the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956. It served as a catalyst for the System's development and, ultimately, its completion. Title I of the 1956 Act increased the System's proposed length to 41,000 miles. It also called for nationwide standards for design of the System, authorized an accelerated program, established a new method for apportioning funds among the States, changed the name to the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways, and set the Federal Government's share of project cost at 90 percent.

Interstate System: Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways

This is actually making me curious to see if this is how other major infrastructure policies were passed. Like maybe our nuclear power plants & major railways were also pushed as national security issues.

I'd rather go back. My premium just literally doubled this year though my $5500 deductible isn't that terrible comparatively.

Use your Google and show me where "Romneycare" became law of the land in all 57 States... I'll wait...

I couldn't vote in Massachusetts elections because I'm in Hellinois. Show me where a States law that's not my own affected me...

I see, ignorant talking points... I'm not a Trump fan boy, so your ignorant "Trump will make it better" is childish in my opinion.

Demanding our laws get redefined is bad, carrying on with the status quo is okay. Good luck!

The Republicans are going to do away with any form of Obama legacy (all bad of course) including and most importantly his flagship Pelosi Care. Nasty bit of work , that one

Who said Romneycare became the law in all States? Quit moving the goalposts. "Romneycare" was the nickname for the Massachusetts healthcare reform laws. So how was it rejected when it literally became the law? Why can't you just admit you were wrong?

Please explain how I am wrong. Romney care was never a federally implemented program. I don't live there and want nothing to do with it.

So please explain how a State issue mandate affects my life. A State I don't live in mind you... Hellinois has different laws than Massachusetts.

I'm all ears if ya can come up with an intelligent rebuttal... Splain how Romneycare forces BS penalties on me...
