Finally we get some sanity from the US congress!

American lawmakers have introduced a so-called Stop Arming Terrorists Act that aims to protect US taxpayers’ dollars from being spent on supporting and arming international terrorist groups through covert operations and third states.

Introduced to the House on Thursday by Democrat Tulsi Gabbard from Hawaii, the legislature aims to put an end to the widely-reported US practice of indirectly sponsoring terrorism. In particular, the act seeks to make it illegal for any US government agency to assist extremist groups directly or indirectly in any way shape or form, be it through the sale of weapons, field training, or intelligence assistance.
I fear this will not pass but I hope I’m wrong.

Now here's a woman who should be the first female president of the US, imo.

The 35-year-old went on to accuse the CIA of providing weapons and money to terrorist groups all over the world through covert operations with the help of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar, amongst others. She referred to recent articles by the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal to back up her claims.

This bill is aimed at the US dirty actions in Syria in supporting the so called FSA.

It's both telling and dissapointing that a bill is even needed for this.

WHY are we even putting out a bill? C'mon... People were hung and shot for this back in the day. Why in the 9 hells do we have to have a law passed to do away.... oh wait! There is a law. I think it has something to do with mutiny of one's government!

Your post isn't but the idea that we have to come to this point is total BS!

This would be great but you're probably right, it won't pass.

Face it, we arm terrorists and fund them all over the world. Because we ourselves our terrorists and supporters of terrorism as long as it's against other nations we disagree with or want to remove.

Sooner or later it will come back to us as well. Either intentionally or not we are on the list for sure.

We aren't the Good Guys as people like to believe and lie to themselves about. We are a nation of Imperialists who have been exporting our "democracy by force" ideology across the globe in one form or another since we became a world power.

We will never stop supporting terrorism until we either win everything or lose everything.

How come nobody follows the money? Want to stop the spread of arms and terror? Jail and fine whoever touched the transaction...either the arms or the money. If that isn't happening, then there's your message right there.

Hey, that's what's funding the terrorism.

why does congress need to pass a law to prevent itself from doing something that honor and integrity should have prevented them from doing in the first place.

congress had to vote to approve funding for arming terrorist so why is congress now trying to make themselves look good by passing a law against doing it?

nothing gets funded without congress`s approval, if congress didn`t know that the funding was going to be used to support terrorist then congress FAILED in it`s duties and responsibilities to the taxpayers.

The blame for this lays squarely on congress`s shoulders it`s their responsibility to know what the money is being spent on.if they don`t know what the money is going to be used for then they shouldn`t approve the funding.

it`s sickening that these congress critters need to pass a law to force them to do what they were suppose to be doing anyway, I.E. being good stewards of the tax payers money and not committing treason.

FACT: The "moderate" terrorists on topic here are Al Qaeda.

That it takes Congress legislation to make ObamaHillaryCo. to stop funding Al Qaeda, the climate preceeding it where Obama hasn't already been impeached over this, is like a one page masters course on mass scale lunatic insanity.

Guess now the terrorists have suffered an utterly humiliating defeat in Aleppo there's not much point to aiding them anymore. Gotta get out while you can.

Of course there should be another bill passed that calls for the immediate arrest and imprisonment, potentially execution, for anyone who supported such a disgraceful policy.

With that attitude "we" will just keep being terrorist. Business as usual. Let Barack Clinton go fund Al Qaeda for another more 6 years. No outrage to be found here folks. Screw the 9/11 first responders!!

If ISIS isn't going to get any more US money to continue their jihad against the west, then what will they do?

Bake sales?
Telethons?
GOFundMe sites?

It should pass regardless of who's president. As others have also said, It shouldn't even have to pass, it should just be criminal in the first place.

So what does that tell you???? Obviously that the people running everything are criminals. There's really no way around it. This country has been in the control of criminals for at least the last 100 years. In the last 50 years the only change is that those criminals have gone global.

It won't with Trump either because there is too much money to be made.

Have any attitude you want about it, it's not you making these decisions is it??? Not me making them either.

There's no point in being partisan about it either because you can't blame this on Dems or Leftists or whoever it is you're trying to vilify. This isn't about political ideology. This is business and business is happening on all sides and it always has.

You think Trump is going to stop the global weapons trade and arming of terrorists across the globe??? Keep dreaming...
