Late last month CNN smeared and misquoted The Gateway Pundit in an article about fake news. Link to article A nice onion piece by CNN and their "Anonymous sources".

CNN reported that The Gateway Pundit ran a story saying Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi told Trump fans to “take their business elsewhere.”Source

Screenshot of CNN article

Source

A made up conspiracy that allegedly quotes one of the Gateway Pundit articles as saying "Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi told Trump fans to “take their business elsewhere.”

The Gateway Pundit reached out to CNN after their story was published and republished on several news websites across the country.

an internal investigation CNN agreed to correct their article. CNN has now issued a retraction and correction to their original report.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of the story characterized Gateway Pundit as a website “designed to trick people.” That was not accurate. The Gateway Pundit is a political blog based in St. Louis that is popular among conservatives. CNN has removed that characterization and regrets the error

This story also reported that Gateway Pundit had published a widely circulated misquote of public comments made by the CEO of Pepsi. CNN has been unable to confirm that Gateway Pundit repeated that misquote.

"Fake news" aka "perfectly factual news we dont care for"...

Is anyone still listening to CNN after all this?

Public perception of reality slipping through their fingers and subsequently panicking.

People with no charge in their phone/no book or magazine trapped in an airport with CNN on the TV?

I think those are the only ones paying attention to them at this point, and even then it's because there's nothing else available.

CNN has turned out to be this freak-monster who acts like they have imbibed way too many bath-salts and is now roving around the internet trying to eat it's own face whilst acting like an irrational child having a tantrum because they cannot accept differing opinions that expose CNN hypocrisy.

And yet, CNN is the only source of real news according to many people... who are sitting in their safe spaces watching CNN.

Here The gateway Pundit says 'Time to Boycott Pepsi". That was republished at teaparty.org

Her e The Conservative Treehouse says Pepsico's CEO said Trump Supporters should take their business elsewhere.

Truthfeed actually did fabricate Pepsico's statement.

Gets confusing. At least CNN posted a retraction.

They do post retractions and corrections. FOX has to post far more, but CNN does as well.

LOL

CNN is getting very desperate as Fox News is "killin em" . They are bleeding off viewers like a punctured artery . What CNN doesnt realize , the common folks are tired of the divisive type bullsh** this POSUS started 8 years ago . That was Hillary's biggest mistake as well. They were and still are completely overlooking the one largest chunk of the population. We dont want anymore of Obama and/or his tactics.Period.

Ah an apologist. So basically you hold MSM to the same standards as Alternative media?

Anderson cooper and Alex jones do have around the same amount of credibility.

Apologist? Truthfeed and The Conservative Treehouse and more fake right wing blogs posted the fabricated statement.
The Gateway Pundit was added in error. CNN noted that.

It is silly to compare the supplement seller to Anderson Cooper, lol.

Fox new's demographic is over 75. Their audience, unfortunately, are not long for this life.

Tactics? What tactics? He won handily for 2 terms. Almost 3 million more people voted for Clinton.

CNN's "retractions" are an old trick.

They get their message printed, wait a while, then "retract" when nobody is reading it anymore.

Old trick.

Really ?
Shows how out of touch the left is
Fox News Channel ratings top all cable networks for first time

Cable Ratings: Fox News Beats CNN and MSNBC Combined in Primetime

Thats a lot of 75 year olds . Especially , when the average life span is close to that age.
Goes on , and on , and on
With some folks , all they can do is spout unsupported tripe and rhetoric.( i.e. fake sh** , garbage)

Almost 3 million more people voted for Clinton

Unfortunately , not with the demographics that were needed . So Hillary took California. Big deal. One state put her over Trump in popular vote. And we all knew beforehand who the "Left Coast" would vote for.

Tactics? What tactics? He won handily for 2 terms.

Because we , and I do mean we , could . Only reason. Now we have to put the country back together.

Some folks need to start their brains , before they put their fingers in gear on the keyboard.

Well, I didn't. As I said in another post yesterday, I've had CNN on fairly continuously since the election night so my comment there is more of a generic overview of my observations of their channel content and reactionary diatribe. As another example of their unprofessionalism they were very quick to diss Trumps tweet about AF1 and instead run with the "Trump is an idiot, it's only $170m - pffft" diatribe..........until Politifact analysed and confirmed the numbers as accurate in the context of the overall contract parameters.

The Air Force has published a budgetary document that says research, development, testing and evaluation of the new Air Force Ones -- officially known as the Presidential Aircraft Recapitalization -- will cost $2.87 billion between fiscal years 2015 and 2021. However, the project is expected to extend beyond 2021, and experts told PolitiFact it would likely require another $1 billion in subsequent years to finish the job. The Teal Group has estimated that the project will require an additional $858 million between fiscal years 2022 and 2026.

That adds up to a grand total of $3.73 billion over 12 years. That’s not "more than $4 billion," as Trump said, but it’s reasonably close -- and it’s no secret that defense contracts have a history of escalating in cost over time. Already, in response to inquiries from the media after Trump’s tweet, an Air Force spokesman told reporters to expect the interim $2.7 billion figure "to change as the program matures."

So as a raw number, Trump’s $4 billion figure is in the ballpark.

Eg: CNN Money said on the 6th...

Trump did not say why he believes the planes will cost "more than $4 billion." Boeing says it currently has an Air Force One contract worth $170 million.

A Boeing source familiar with the program told CNN that not even the company can estimate the cost of the program at this time, since "the Pentagon has not even decided all the bells and whistles it wants on the new Air Force One."
- CNN didn't do due diligence, instead jumping on the "Trumps an idiot" bandwagon and running with it.

The story was REAL though, they added one news outlet to the list that didn't fabricate the quote, but others did.
It is not fake news, it was one entry in a list that was incorrect.

Does no one know the difference between real and fake news?
