I don't know how many posters on ATS are aware of the depth of talent and musical genius lurking in this small island nation in the pacific. Weird pop bands proliferate, kind of like a mutated Britpop, and I'm going to post a few of my favourites.

Cool, I'll check them out when I get home.

I clicked this thread mostly to point out that imho some of the best hip hop I have heard in years is from Homebrew (Homebrew Crew). Their self titled albums is a double lp of awesomeness. YouTube : Sunday Sessions Homebrew for a nice taste of smooth hip hop with a real band. They put NZ on the map for me..

Ps. Hip hop is not my typical go to genre but when I like it I love it.
