I just saw a movie called The Mist, its a thriller, horror story written by the great Stephen King, even though he is the King to the Horror genre, his legacy is truly writing a narrative which fits in the imagination of our deep dark lurking secrets.

I usually dont watch a horror movie in the middle of the night, but sometimes i just want to test my limits, even though for a brief moment..

A freak storm unleashes a species of bloodthirsty creatures on a small town, where a small band of citizens hole up in a supermarket and fight for their lives.

I liked it, it was a great story. Some of the characters however i thought provoked more than they needed to, but i think its more the problem of the actors and not the storyline.

And the ending, i cant say without spoiling, but its truly a Royal one for a man named King.

I really like that movie, been a while since I've watched it. Great horror movie though. Two things always stand out for me with that movie.

The crazy religious lady, and subsequent story line, drives me nuts. Being non religious, the ultra zealous religious extreme goes way beyond my threshold of ignorance and emotion. I know it's a movie, but it scares me because there are real people like that.

Secondly, the best part, the ending is absolutely great. Everything about it. It's positively haunting and almost sucks the humanity right out of the viewer.

The ending was actually dreamed up by director Frank Darabount ( Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption,) it is waaaay more messed up than the ending in the book.

Very cool movie.

The last 15 minutes or so are Top Notch.

A bit gut wrenching.

Not surprised, king really isn't that deep or creepy to get credit for that one.

I loved the ending but the Bible thumping, religious nut, characterization and angst was overly laboured and long.

Also the implication that the armed forces would know what to do in the situation was a plot hole.

The Mist - Stephen King

If I recall the book, the ending in the book has them just tooling down the interstate hoping that that bit of radio that they heard from Boston might mean something, and, slowly, into the mist they disappear.
The movie needed to give the audience their 'fix', and was a crappy ending. Not King's.
The book left you with your eyes wide and mouth open.
The movie, excellent up until the very end, left mor a smirk and sense of irony.
I have watched it often, anyway. Bought it!
If you liked the movie, treat yourself, read the book! *__-

King actually loved the movie ending

Frank wrote a new ending that I loved. It is the most shocking ending ever and there should be a law passed stating that anybody who reveals the last 5 minutes of this film should be hung from their neck until dead.
